  4. My surgery was Monday at 1230. Quite a bit if nausea and dry heaving yesterday. Probably the pain meds. Home since about 9 pm last night. Not having much trouble getting the fluids down. Feeling better all the time. Happy to be on the sleeved side.
  5. Glad to hear so many good stories. I'm feeling better this morning. Couple of bouts of nausea but only one actual dry heaves. Have had a small gas bubble in my chest but everything else is fine. Melinda1, I am so sorry to hear about this. I had plenty of things prior, bad EKG and elevated white blood cell count for no reason. Keep in touch and let us know what the decision is.
  6. Leaving now for my 10 am check in. Surgery at 1230. Feeling much calmer than I thought I would. Slept well! Prayers to all of us today! Speedy recoveries and a new healthier life!
  7. I am for 12:30 tomorrow afternoon also, have been on clear/full liquids for 7 days now. Counting the minutes until I go to bed and can't have anything. Plan to drink a big ole glass of water before bed! Lol. Good luck and prayers for tomorrow's sleevers!

  9. So I saw the cardiologist this afternoon and got the all clear! One less thing to worry about!
  10. I'm already anxious enough about the surgery and today I have to see a cardiologist for my abnormal EKG. Added stress is NOT welcome at this time.
  11. Hi Everyone! I'm Anita and I have been a nurse for 19 years this year. The last 13 years have been in newborn/level II nursery. I LOVE my job! My battle with my weight started after the birth of my second child. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at age 4 months. His first 8 months he cried 24/7, sleeping only 10-20 minutes a couple times a day. He started having seizures at 8 months. At that time he went on ACTH injections. For the first time in his life, he started sleeping. Anyway, when I came out of "the fog" as I call it, I had gained up to about 240lbs. The next 15 years were centered around his constant care. I did attend nursing school during this time. Nursing was my refuge. He has been gone for 9 years now, but the weight refuses to go away. So, I am now going to take care if me! My husband and older son are very supportive of my decision. I will be sleeved on March 18th and am anxiously awaiting the day! It is nice to find a forum with other nurse minded people! I can't wait to step over to the other side!
  12. I just had it done yesterday so I haven't heard from him yet. Hopefully not though.
  13. Hey, Melinda1, my ECG also shows some change from my last one. A right bundle branch block. Basically an electrical defect. But it can be caused by a murmur, which I know I have. Can't hear it routinely, only when I was pregnant did anyone ever hear it. But it did show up on an echocardiogram I had once. Hopefully nothing major in regards to my surgery, haven't heard yet.
  14. Nice to hear from you Oz, I am looking forward to seeing everyone's progress!
  15. No preop wt for my doc either.
  16. I start full liquids on the 11th. And then if course nothing after midnight the night before.
  17. Yes it is. I've really enjoyed most if the posts I've seen on this forum. It has been very helpful walking me through the emotions and concerns I have had.
  18. Me too! Then when I think it is only 13 days away, I kinda almost panic! Lol. Cone in the 18th! We've got this!
