7 Days to go!
Oh my gosh 1 week away from my new birthday! I can't wait to start this new adventure. I'm excited and a lil nervous. I took this weekend to really tell myself I was not gonna see food in the same way. I haven't been able to eat as usual. I think maybe in a sub conscious way, I am preparing myself mentally for this. I hope so. My husband is so excited fro me as well. So that is such a comfort. I am lucky that the majority of people in my life are a positive light for me. I hope this week flies by for me.

Is Muscle Milk ok to use as a protein meal?
Sounds good thanks for all the input folks. I was wondering about the Ensure as well. I understand that the chocolate isn't too bad.

lapband to gastic sleeve need help asap!
After reading your experiences I can say I am really lucky. I was banded April of 2010 and really had no issues except I didn't lose anymore than about 14 pounds! Was a total rip-off. My insurance carrier changed to Kaiser and was really luck that due to my Diabetes and BP issues they are gonna remove the band and do the sleeve at the same time. I am not required to do any of classes till afterwards. I guess since I went through all of them with the prior insurer. I have to say that the meeting are an essential part of the whole process. So I hope to attend my class the week after surgery.

I am pre-op a couple of weeks yet but I am getting ready. I was wondering if we can drink Muscle Milk? I heard there is now a Muscle Milk Light.

Back Fat
O I hate my back fat! That is one of the main things i pray goes quick. Now I have been having dreams about the loose skin...I hope that does not become a big issue for me. I am gonna work out as soon as I can. Does anyone know if some sort of compression garmet would help in our shrinkage?

Newby waiting on approval.
From my own experience I can tell you if you have diabetes or high bp you will be approved. As far as adapting to the liquid diet it will be hard but not harder than dealing with our weight issues. You can do this! I am lucky since my doctor simpley wants me to start my liquid diet 2 days before surgery. However, when I had the lap band done 2 years ago, I was on an all liquid diet for 2 weeks prior. That was hard but doable. I am not sure if the protein shakes that Costco carries are ok for us to drink but they are good and well priced. Easy for on the go people like me. Good luck and God Bless you on your journey.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
Boy I sure can relate to all these stories. Except I DID have the shallow Hal moment. That has been something I will NEVER forget. My Dad was sitting accross from me at this long table of family at a restaurant (celebrating Fathers Day). And it began to happen, the chair started collapsing in slow motion as my Father and I locked eyes...I will never forget that look of helplessness he had in his eyes as well as embarrassment for me. Another time at Knott's Berry farm I had to get off a ride because the lap belt wouldn't fit. That was horrible as everyone in my party just looked at me with sadness. I don't ever want anyone to feel those emotions because of me. Especially my Son. He is 8 and I want to do more with him. He loves the outside and I want to go hiking, ride bikes and swim with him. I want to wear clothes and it fit right. Wearing a bathing suit would be fantabulous! I know I have a great support group in my family and friends. My surgery is 2 weeks from tomorrow and I can't wait. Lord help me!

1 month post op check up
Oh my! You know what hon? You have done a fantastic job on your weight loss! Keep up the hard work. No one understands the pain and how hard it is for us but US. Don't let them bring you down, on the contrary just know they are jealous of your success! I am having my surgery on the 28th and have been really lucky with my co-workers being very supportive, but then I work in an office of 4 people. I am scared but happy at the same time.

?'s
Wow. I know that a nice clear chicken broth would be good. Try cooking som chicken breast along with some fresh spinach, celery and bok choy. Boil real well and then put the broth through a really good strainer. Try that and it will definately give you some energy. An organic chicken would be best. Good luck. My surgery is in 2 weeks.

Best Protein Powder EVER!
