  1. Remember u r only 5 days out. It will get better and easier. I too had pain on my left side for a couple of weeks (I think from memory). Keep sipping all day. It really is a job to get those liquids in early on. You tummy is still very swollen - this is why u r feeling bloated. Early on I had issues with my bowel too, but they r good now. Trust me when I say is does get so much easier. I can drink normally now and if it wasn't for small portion sizes I would not even think I had had surgery. Good luck, but above all be kind to yourself. U have just had major surgery and it will take some time to feel "normal" again!
  2. Hi everyone! I haven't been around much lately, but wanted to pop in and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I hope u all have a great time! I am nearly 5 months out now and have lost 28.9 kg. I still have a long way to go, but am getting there slowly. Some days r tough and I struggle with head hunger a lot but I am nearly half way to goal. Could not b happier with my decision to have the sleeve. Welcome to all the newly sleeved people and good luck in your journeys. Helen
  3. I am also a part if a couple of support groups on Facebook. They r secret sites (so no one sees anything u post or that u r a member) let me know if u would like more info.
  4. Yay! Glad it all went well. Rest up and look after you!
  5. That's awesome Misty! Congrats on the weight loss. I think I am going to b one of those people who lose slowly. I am still losing though, so I shouldn't complain. It is disheartening though.
  6. I told my parents and sister and a few close friends before the surgery. Post op I have only told one additional person. If it feels right I will tell more people, but for now I am happy with those I have told and don't want to share with anyone else. Everyone is different. Everyone has an opinion. I'm lucky in that out of the people I have told I have only had positive reactions (apart from my sister who came around once she did some research) I am very careful in who I tell, just because I don't want the negativity.
  7. Good on you Donna! That is a great amount to lose. I wont b able to make the GC catch up. I have a friend coming to stay for the weekend. It will b very interesting as i have not told her about the sleeve and I am a little nervous about it actually. Feeling sad now as I would love to b able to catch up with u all Hope u all have a great time.
  8. Don't think I am going to b able to make it to the catch up in October I have a friend coming to visit.
  9. Good luck! Wishing u a speedy recovery.
  10. What did/do u guys do to deal with the dreaded head hunger. I know I am not hungry, but I still want to eat all the time! Need some help with this one....
  11. At least u know what is wrong now and hopefully ur dr can come up with a plan to treat it. Losing the weight will only help with the arthritis. Good luck and keep us posted! Hope u r feeling better soon xx
