  1. Haha, my surgery feels forever away now that some of you Feb. people are having it done right now, or in the next few days. You will be seasoned sleeve veterans by the time I head into the OR.
  2. Do any of you use the mobile app for this forum? I do on my Android phone, and whenever I try to look at threads in this group, it tells me I don't have permission to look at the threads, like I'm not a member of the group. Anyone else have this problem and know a workaround? The app is my only way to read the forums at work, and I have a very, very boring job.
  3. Hi Jeff, just a few more days for you! I also have a 3 year old daughter, and I really want to be able to run around with her and not get worn out just playing on the floor with her. We need to do this not only for ourselves, but to be positive role models for our children, and be there for them for many more years. By the way, my husband is from Wisconsin, and we lived in Oshkosh for about 8 years before moving to Ohio. I miss it SO much, especially camping up north. There's just nothing like it here.
  4. Best of luck to those of you having your surgeries tomorrow!!
  5. Welcome! Me too - I feel like I don't have enough time to read all the stuff I want to read on here, lol!
  6. Hey, I'll be sleeved on 2/26 too! Hello buddies! We are going to rock this tool.
  7. Hello! I'm Heather, 33, 5'4, 340lb, live in northwest Ohio with my husband, our daughter who will be 3 on Feb 12, and our 2 cats. I work in a lab in the middle of nowhere. My surgery date is Feb. 26th, and my pre-op appt is Feb. 11th. My surgeon is in Dayton, and I'm really impressed with him so far. I can't believe this is finally happening. I had my first informational seminar with a different surgeon's office back in July, was originally interested in the RNY, then the DS. I changed surgeons specifically to one who is vetted to perform the DS, then he talked me out of it. I liked him so much I decided to go with him and the sleeve!
  8. I made a little countdown ticker for my signature because things like that are fun and make me feel like my surgery date is Christmas or something. My pre-op appointment is at 6:30am at the hospital, which is a couple hours away. I'm worried that the weather will turn snowy or (even worse) icy. Don't feel much like driving my '99 Cavalier (nicknamed the Iron Sled) alone down the freeway at 4 in the morning, so I reserved a hotel room near the hospital for the night before. Crown Plaza, woo woo. Figure I can always cancel it, but better safe than sorry.
  9. -Double post, whoops!-
  10. Keep at it, TP (hehe) and don't beat yourself up. I quit smoking years ago myself, and it was amazing how much I craved the physical sensations after quitting - holding it in my hand etc. This is the last unaided diet you'll ever have, and probably the hardest as we are all kind of a jumble of emotions right now.
  11. Hello! My date is Feb 26 in Dayton, OH! The pre-op appt is an all-day thing on Feb 11, the day before my daughter's 3rd birthday. I'm 33, 5'4, 340. Can't believe this is finally happening!!!
  12. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  13. Just got my call and sure enough, the date is Feb 26th! Scheduler said what you guys told me, that it's just a dummy date they have to give insurance.
  14. Thanks guys! Hopefully the surgery scheduler calls soon with the real date. Diva, 5 days?? That's great, especially with only $400 left on your deductible!
  15. My surgeon's office called on Monday to tell me I was approved, and to expect a call in the next few days from the surgery scheduler, who would give me a surgery date. I haven't heard from the scheduler yet, but got an approval letter in the mail today from Anthem. It says I'm approved for a hospital stay on Feb. 19th, and leaving Feb. 20. Does that mean my surgery is Feb. 19th?? Or is that just a random date that the surgeon's office gave them? It says on the back of the letter that if the date changes, then the insurance company has to approve it again....
  16. Keeping my fingers crossed for you, Beautyandbeyond!!!
  17. I have Anthem BCBS of California too. Information was sent in on 1/9, and I was APPROVED today! Yes, it took them awhile longer than the surgeon's insurance coordinator thought it should, but I've been so thrilled since I got the call that I don't care.
  18. Thanks guys! Congrats Pammie!!
  19. I'm APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!! Now waiting for the surgery scheduler to call, but she said that might be a few days.
