  1. Thanks for this posting. My doc prescribe something that I take twice a day called carafate. I have to check and see if this is for antacid. They told me its for coating sleeve for anti ulcers.
  2. What is that? Is that tums or something else?
  3. I wish! My surgeon's nut said 5 weeks.
  4. I was sleeved on 2/22/13 and I feel hungry all the time. I feel my old hunger coming back stronger everyday. Im trying to decipher my full feeling. Im still on broth Jello ice pops and Protein shakes. 1 hour after my meal, I get hungry.
  5. Hello all- I finally had my surgery yesterday morning. So far so good. No real pain. I ask for my pain meds every 3-4 hrs. I had my drink test this morning. The tsste really made a litgle nauseous. I do feel better now.
  6. Good Morning everyone! I went in to get sleeved yesterday but it got pushed back till this Friday bcus of some issue in the OR. Who really wants to hear that, right? I had the IV in, received the injection for clotting and 2hrs later no surgery. Oh well, no rush. But, u know what i did after, right. TGI Fridays on Tuesday. Lol (yes i did)
  7. Ok y'all!! Its official, today is the day. I cant believe im doing this, but i know its necessary. So many efforts to lose weight in the past, and no maintenance. Im looking forward to a new healthier me, minus the discomfort. Please say a prayer for all of us sleevers today, as im sure we will be doing the same for your entire journey. I will keep u all posted on whats gng on throughout the eve, if i'm up to it. Surgery is scheduled for 2pm.
  8. Good luck to u today. Please post how u r feeling after surgery if u r up to it.
  9. Omg! That is exactly how i feel. I kinda got over the anesthesia part after my endoscopy. But, its the feeling of nausea or vommiting that im worried about. I cheated everyday on my liquid diet and my surgery is tmrw at 2p. I know so many people from work that had this done recently and they all had different experiences. Ughhhh!!!!
  10. My surgery is on the 19th at 2pm. I cant believe its so close. Im anxious, excited and extremely calm at the same time. Crazy, right? Im in NY and having procedure done by dr vohra.
  11. Im one week away from my sleeve. Nervous as heck. Has anyone received answers about possible leakage after surgery?
  12. Congrats Aceykay!!!! Did u feel nauseous at all?
  13. Thank u guys for comments. Good luck crystal. Let us know how everything goes.
  14. Ok. So i was supposed to have the band on jan 24th. Then, i have my friends tell me i should get sleeve bcus of obvious reasons. Perfect strangers in the surgeons office share their battle with the band and advise me to think about the sleeve. Needless to say, i instantly changed my mind and opted for the sleeve. But, i am having 2nd thoughts now. Does anyone have fears of losing a major portion of their stomach? Can this surgery cause cancer in the long run? Will the stapling make us prone to ulcers? What is the life expectancy of sleeved individuals? My mind is going in circles right now.
  15. Wow!!!!! Congratulations guys. Im glad to here that u are doing well post op. Im also glad this forum was created bcus i will be sleeved in 2weeks and my biggest concern is post op (pain and nausea). My surgery date is Jan 24th.
  16. Good luck!!!! How did u make the decision to do the sleeve. Im scheduled for Jan 24 for the band and many of my coworkers had the sleeve.
