  1. Yikes! Yeah, I'm one vulnerable to sinus infections... Wait! Wednesday??? Get thee to the doctors right away!!!!
  2. Thanks guys! But I want to know why when I go crazy eating I lost a pound???? Counter-intuitive.
  3. I had a think for George Cluney until one of my co-workers pointed out the uncanny resembalence between him and my dad... EWWW. I'd never noticed it before, but damn if she wasn't right....
  4. My husband's visiting me for the weekend, so we went out to eat since the last think on my mind is cooking..... I thought I would share what it's like when we go out to eat. DH has been banded for 20 months, and I've been banded for 6 months. He has lost almost 200 pounds with at least 100 150 to go. I've not done spectaularly (someone had me a tissue to dry my tears... ) Friday we went to dinner at a national chain, Applebee's. I had a drink and ordered two different appetizer plates. The big sampler and and order of BBQ ribblets. We realized too late that we should have only ordered on of the appetizers for the both of us, but we had the left overs for Breakfast and lunch. Last night, he took me to one of the nicer restaurants here in Pocatello. We had drinks, and ordered the baked garlic and brie appetizer with small pieces of toasted french bread, house salads (I'll go there just for their house salad!), and we split a steak, a rib eye. There was also a small loaf of bread with dipping oil (olive oil, fresh parmisan and basil) This is what we managed to eat: Appetizer: we each had two pieces of toast with roasted garlic and brie. The bread is about the size of a Soup spoon, maybe a little larger, depending on your flatwear. Salad: we ate half our salads. Main entree: We split a steak, but only managed to eat half the entree between us. Maybe 4 bites of the garlic mashed potato. (No one does potatoes like Idaho...) No desert because we were stuffed. I made sure to re-asure the waiter that there was nothing wrong with the food, it was just that we couldn't eat much. I didn't say *why* we couldn't eat much. I was my charming best towards the waiter, and he kept clearing our courses and stacking them all boxed for us. So. Today for breakfast I had my leftover salad. For lunch, I'll have DH's left over salad and some of the appetizer. Dinner will be one of the steaks and tomorrow's dinner will be the other left over steak. Oh, and I'll have the brie and garlic and roasted tomato all week no doubt! So, all you new bandsters, this is the sort of experience you can look forward to! Prebanding, we would have had a couple of drinks, (okay, that didn't change for me post banding ) an appetizer, at least two loaves of bread, our own entree and desert. I would have brought half my entree back, but I never could eat a lot in one sitting.... We ordered the rib eye because it is the "most flavorful." Next time, we find out their "most tender" cut.... LAUGHTER
  5. okay, how crazy am I? I've been tracking my calories and trying to stay really close to 1200 calories. Trying hard, hard. hard to loose weight. Working out, drinking Water, and watching my calories. Well, last week I said "to hell with it. It's not working my way, and I have a fill scheduled." I had a couple of days where I was above 1600 or well, darn close to it anyway. Ice cream, chocolate, chips, snarff. I figured that I would punish myself by going to the gym and using the scale. (The dance studio doesn't have a scale that I've found...) Well, imagine my surprise when I discovered that I'm down a pound.
  6. well, I haven't lost any weight since July, and I've been very depresses about it. I have tried to be the model bandster, but I just can't get the scale to move. I'd gotten down to 242, but I gained weight some how and now I'm back at 248. Talk about depressing. The only reason I've got the 35 to my name that I count the weight I've lost since my all time high. I still feel like fraud... I have lost a lot of inches though, so that's a good thing. I also have 46 NSVs so that's the only thing that keeps me going.
  7. Congrats! Great feeling isn't it!
  8. Congrats and good work!
  9. Yeah! WE miss you Greg! Having too much fun with that new grandbaby????
  10. Oh Kare! No, I don't do this, but my DH does. I rarely get things stuck like that, since I'm almost obsessive with "chewing to goo". I've only had a couple of PBs that didn't end with me dry heaving and leaving me feeling sick for hours or days. It always freakes me out a bit when my DH does this because I know what happens in my body, but he doesn't have this same issue I do.
  11. Oh Jigglypuff! I feel your pain. But please repeat after me : "the time before the fill is for healing not weight loss." Any weight loss before your fill is Bonus! And I don't think it's uncommon for people to gain a few pounds before their first fill, I know I gained back 5 pounds. We do not lose at the same rate as RNY folks. Heck, we don't even lose the same rate within our group! I know it's really hard to sit there and feel like everybody on the planet is losing weight with their band when you feel like you are not. Okay, repeat this after me too "I am not a failure. I am a wonderful person and deserve the best the Universe has to offer."
  12. Okay, The cliff notes version: My favoriate weather guy is convinced that the KGB is using Japanese mobsters and terrorists to attack These Unitied Stated of America using weather machines. Katrina was a direct attack. Rita was a direct attack. The longer tornado season is a direct attack. Yakuza (Japanese Mob) the Aum Shinrikyo,is a Japanese Terrorist group responsible for a Serin nerve gas attack in a crowded Tokyo subway And Lisa, you're not fooling anyone you know. and since I can hijack my own thread any time... HI DONALI!!! She's back! She's BACK!!!! I've missed you terribly!
  13. Oh Lisa, I would never doubt you... ever. Nuh-uh. Not gonna do it.
  14. We just worry Teressa. It would be like a diabetic saying that they didn't need thier insulin or someone with high blood pressure saying that they didn't need their meds. Sleep apnea is potentially leathal. Deadly. we don't want you pushing up the daisies before your time. Please have another sleep study!
  15. Your seamstres/taylor should be able to fix it up without much difficulty. You could always get one of Nana~'s corsets... oh la la ! Yes, you have done amazing work since getting your band! We are very proud, and you should be too! Damn, you lost 50, I lost 3. Excellent work on your part!

what you are going through right now is very tough, sorry. Can you have any liquids? I would have something that had a bit of fat, like one of the Kefer (yogurt drinks) that has some fat. Fat, along with Protein will help you feel full longer. Once you are healed with your band, you will be on real food again. The stage you are at IS NOT typical. You can do this. If I can leave my family for 4 years to get a college education, you can do a couple of weeks on this diet. Courage!
  17. Okay Delarla, here's your wish! Who alive today would you have a roll in the hay with. Rules: 1. no dissing anyone's choice 2. try to pick someone we all have a chance of knowing who they are... (for example, "that really cute boy in my class" would be out...) 3. a person you in all likelihood will never actually have a chance of a roll in the hay with. For me, probably Kurt Russell... I've been in love with him since I was 7 and I saw "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes" wait a minute... could he have been the reason I'm so into computers??? Ye gods! LBT is wonderful therapy! Sure there are others, but Kurt is my top pick... for now.
  18. Gee, I was expecting some thing really bad, sort of like Robin William... Just because the media says you have to be a eunuch and wax your chest doesnt' mean you actually have to do that...
  19. Poor them! Yup, you are way too classy! These people with no sense of history or historical hotties...
  20. "One nation, indivisble, with liberty and justice for all." More powerful.
  21. Okay, this is my favorite weather guy here in SE ID, but he just quit his job so he can devote all his time to researching peculiar weather phenomena… weather warfare: we are being attacked by Yakuza under direction from the FSB/KGB … So in early 1990, the weather engineering operations over North America were assumed from the FSB/KGB by the Yakuza/Aum Shinrikyo teams, and operations continued with the Yakuza's leased giant scalar interferometers. The weather engineering against the United States continues today under the rogue Japanese teams on site in Russia, with direct FSB/KGB supervision. (Tom Bearden) http://www.weatherwars.info/
  22. May the cities in your wake burn like candles on your cake!
  23. "Under God" was only added to the pledge in the '50s to show we were diffent from the "Goddless Commies" because it was better dead than red. Actually, at a Ping-pong game in China you would expect to hear the virtures of the communits party extolled, not a blessing. I've been hearing people decry the assault on Christianity in this country for about 20 years now. I've yet to see any evidence of this. But when people keep telling each other the same lie, they begin to believe the lie. Can anyone name a non-Christian President??? Are Christians being pursecuted for going to church here? I can't even think of a factual US news story where a Christian was killed because he was a Christian. I'm not talking about anywhere overseas, but only within the borders of the US, or even Canada, or the EU. I don't know about Austrailia, but I only read tech news from OZ... In many parts of American, Gays and Lesbians are beaten and harrassed and even killed simply because of who they are. They are denighed their Constitional rights, their human rights to be married. (and if you think that marriage is for the sole purpose for having children, then everyone who doesn't have children should imediately be forced to divorce. This would include infertle couples, couples who choose to not have children and people too old to have children. Why are these people permitted to have the civil protections that marriage provides but not Gays and/or Lesbians?) Christian Ministers, such as the Rev. Phelps and others, have saught to place markers celebrating the murder of young gay men. Here in Idaho, someone was beaten up because he had a Darwin Fish on his car. American Muslims have been killed because they were American Muslims. If we must have prayers and benidictions before sporting events and such, then I would like to see everybody get equal time. When was the last time an Imam gave a blessing for your event? When was the last time you had a Wiccan spell? A Pagan blessing? Or no blessing at all from an Atheist? A reading from the Tora or the Bagavagita? This would not be an assult on your rights, but an equalization of our rights, all the Non-Christians. 15-20 years ago I would get harrassed because I would complain about the smoking in my places of work, whether they were restaurants or offices. I'm a non-smoker, and I hated to be continually exposed to the smoke. Today I don't have to put up with all the smoke becaues our socity has evolved to the point where we understand that one person doesn't have the right to force others to smoke (breathe in the second hand smoke). I think this is a similar thing. Just think about it, put yourself in someone else's shoes, my shoes for instance. Honestly how would you feel if you had to hide your religion for fear of physical violence? How would you feel if you every time you did mention your faith, you would be verbally harrassed and well meaning peopel at every turn tried to explain why you were wrong, and that you should convert to The One True Faith? How would you feel if you had to move somewhere where you would have no access to others of your faith?
  24. funny, my great big doppy son also did so much better when he was able to mentor younger kids too!
