  1. Hi!! Lauralee!! I am so excited to be feeling so much better. I never knew grits were soooo good. It is amazing how as of Monday, I started feeling like myself again. I go in for my post op check on Thursday. I had a very large hernia that he had to repair and I am anxious to hear from him about that. They did not give my family much information about it on the daty of surgery. I am happy wiht AIGB. Is that wear you go? The staff there is great. I hope you are doing great. I am going to try and add a ticker. Do you go to any support groups?
  2. Thanks Lauienj....I just looked at my card it said maximum fill volume is 4cc. I never read the little card. Now I know. I also took a walk and I do feel a little better. cmacinga....Good Luck on your surgery date....it will be here soon.
  3. Hi!! I am 4 days after surgery and I feel so bloated and swollen. I did not take any pain medicine today for the first time. Is this normal? Good Luck to those who are still waiting for surgery today. I just read about band sizes and types. This is something the doctor and I did not discuss. I do not even know what size I have. Are there that many different types? Do most of you kow the type and size you are getting?
  4. Congratulations on the 15lbs. I am sorry to hear about your wreck.
  5. Thanks for the encouraging words Devana. Today is better. I am just still hungry. I can't wait for full liquids! Have you been banded yet?
  6. Hi!! I am so sorry to hear about those of you that are having such bad pain. My doctor gave me a combination of Lortab and an anti-nausea. When I take them together, I can handle the discomfort. I just keep falling asleep very easily. I work from home and tried to not take the pain med so I could get a little work done and I had to go ahead and take it. I do feel much better today (day 3 ) then any other. It sounds like I should just continue to get better. I am a little concerned about 2 of my incisions. They are looking a little pink around the edges. I think I will call the doctors office tommorow. I had a total of 5 and the other three are not pink at all. Good Luck to all of those scheduled for tommorow. I am very hungry and looking forward to Friday when I can have full liquids, broth is not satisfying me today!!!
  7. I am so happy for you. I know just getting the surgery scheduled was the hardest part. I am 3 days post surgery and doing great. I did not find out about this site until after my surgery. I think this is a great place to get a lot of great information and encouragement. Look forward to following your progress.
  8. Hi!! Has anyone else used Dr. John Gonzalez in San Antonio? I was banded on Friday and I am finally feeling great. I am still having gas pain and pressure, but it is tolerable. I almost chickened out completely and canceled the surgery. I am so thankful that I didn't. I am a little nervous about having only liquids for the next 2 weeks. I am sure I can do it. I would love to add a ticker to my signature. Can anyone tell me how? Good Luck to all of the up and coming bandsters this week.
  9. Thanks for the encouraging words. I wish I would have know about this site sooner. I think this will help to be able to talk with other bandsters. Baby Powder does help prevent chaffing!
  10. Hi!! I had my surgery yesterday and it went great. I was home within 5 hours of the surgery. I tried to stop the pain meds this afternoon, but I had to start taking them again. I need to figure out how to add the ticker and other information. Dr. John Gonzalez is my surgeon in San Antonio, TX. I had the surgery at Turning Point Surgery Center. I am so excited and feeling pretty good. I was so terrified yesterday morning that I almost canceled the procedure. I am so glad I didn't. They told me that I had a huge hiatle hernia that they had to repair. Does anyone know much about that?
