    Post op march sleevers

Hi Starting weight 103kg (227pounds) Surgery date 7th march 2013 Current weight 84kg (185) I'm struggling with staying away from junk food I know it's from the stress I have due to my exams coming up and it's killing me that I've been the same weight for four weeks now. I do try to walk/run daily but due to the weather it's been hard I'm thinking about joining a gym. What are some ways you guys cope with stress and how do you stop yourselves form eating unhealthily.

    Any March Sleevers?

I was sleeved 7th march and I'm on the soft foods phase. I hate eating, because when I do I feel sick and nauseated and drinking water feels so heavy in my stomach. so I'm still struggling to get in my protein and water.

I'm really struggling with the purée phase. I honestly do not know what I can eat or can't eat. I'm so confused as to when I should start looking at the nutritional info such as the sugar, fat and carb content so I'm thinking about getting some fresh veggies and steaming them then turning them into mash as I too grossed out on the idea of blending chicken.

It's probably not gas but acid build up I had the same problem the first couple days after I was discharged but once I started taking my anti reflux meds which helps eliminate the acid from building up, I felt fine. Go get it checked out just incase, Goodluck Hun hopefully it can be resolved soon

I can't always keep a pillow around as I'm back to attending University. Coughing is okay as I don't have any discomfort or pain. And thankfully I had no drains but I can imagine the discomfort with that and the movement and force caused by sneezing.

I've given up on the Protein Shakes as it made me full after drinking a couple of sips and I couldn't fit any thing else for a long while afterwards and I could tell I was becoming more dehydrated So my plan of action is to keep myself hydrated and hopefully during the purée phase I'll up the protein intake Btw I used the Optifast protein bottle shaker for my protein shake. And I've already made plans for my clothing I'm just going to keep taking them in, as my sister can alter them for me, that way I can save more to spend on when I reach goal.

    Surgery in two days!

Pain for me was very minimal, it was more discomfort which is from the gas. I found that walking and doing deep breathing throughout the day especially in the morning helps move the gas around and eventually out, but it is uncomfortable.

    Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Hey guys Just a little update, I had my surgery on the 7th of march which was last Thursday, thankfully I've had minimal pain just a lot of discomfort from the gas, the only complication I had was my anesthetist had trouble finding a vein for my IV cannula, he tried three times on my left arm, before I went into the operating room and I woke up with an IV cannula in my right hand but there is another puncture wound from another failed attempt also on my right arm. And I got cellulitis (inflammation of the vein) in my left hand and broke out in a rash which I'm currently treating with a topical corticosteroid called Elcon. Now for my Fluid intake, I'm struggling with my Protein shake I can barely drink one full shake which causes me the feel so full. I also drink tiny amounts of Water throughout the day but I'm struggling and I know who important they both are especially the protein. So tomorrow I'm going to try icey poles, Soups, and a cup full of ice with OJ. Just wanted to know if that is a good idea and how did you guys manage with the Protein Shake?? Thanks in advance ✌

    Any March Sleevers?

Hey guys I'm finally on the post op side of this journey. I had surgery on the 7th and was discharged on Monday, so a total of five days in the hospital. Now that I'm at home I'm really struggling to get my fluids in because of the gas pain which is in my chest so I find having deep breaths is really painful. Other than that I'm doing fine I had no major complications just cellulitis and an allergic reaction to potassium. I'm going to try and keep myself hydrated because I'd rather be in pain than go back to hospital for an IV drip. My SW was 102.3 kgs / 225pounds My CW is 99 kgs / 218 pounds My GW is 55kgs / 121 pounds My height is 168cm / 5.5 ft

I was sleeved on Thursday, they had trouble finding a vein to put the IV cannula into so I was punctured three times in the left arm before surgery and woke up with an IV cannula in my right arm but I also had a bruise near that cannula so I know they tried and failed to insert one there as well. I've also had 4 blood test done due to getting cellulitis in my left hand so I was prescribed antibiotics to help with the inflammation. I've also been given potassium given to me which really hurt going in besides that I've also been given anti nausea medication, anti reflux medication However, on the upside I've been sleeping well had little to no gas pain and well being going home tomorrow
