  1. Hi! I'm 15 days post op and currently eating ... scrambled eggs - mashed cottage cheese - mashed mashed potatoes egg salad - mashed salmon - mashed Drinking - Atkins Advantage shakes -- & adding "greenies" (packets of various vitamens/green foods found at Whole Foods) I don't think I'll ever have broth again! Boy I burned out fast on that! But still downing the SF jellow and popsicles. But ya know, the more carbs & artificial sweetner I seem to be taking in -- is making me more hungry. So for now I'm leaning towards Protein. I've had no issues so far, and hope to keep it that way. Especially after reading the pita bread post!!!
  2. WOW! My doc said I couldn't drink alcohol for the first year? Good to hear that a drink won't kill me!! LOL
  3. Yeppers, agreed ... most lively thread. I'm new, just joining -- I'm on a countdown to be banded on 5/30. Another Lez, married (of course not legally since we live in Texas) with 2 kids. But, at least we live in Austin, which is the only blue county in the whole red state. Gladd I found ya'll Attach ... it was a very Brady X-mas this year ... LOL:Banane20:
  4. Cyndilou29 ... agreed, great list. I'll be banded 5/30th and cann't wait.
  5. Thanks for all of the support! As the days click by and it closers -- the more excited I am (and nervous!). As for the pre-op -- I'm starving, and graving everything except protien ... I keep messaging to myself -- mind over food! Thanks again!
  6. Hello all, I'm starting my count down to my May 30th surgery date to be banded. This sight has been VERY helpful. The biggest thing I've noticed is how differently each Doctor approaches the pre-op and post-op processes. The Doctor I have chosen (Dr. Mario Longoria, Southwest Bariatrics, Austin, TX), has put me on the following pre-op: 30 grams of Carbs At least 70 grams of Protien Fat in Moderation Post-op: 1st Week - Clear liquids 2nd Week - Liquids 3rd Week - Soft Foods 4th Week - Additional foods Dietician suggested No carbonated drinks, tough meat, shrimp (due to cartlidge like texture), fruits and vegies with skin. In perusing the Board, I have seen postings of many eating just about anything and at anytime - pre-op and 1 week post-op. I guess the main lesson here is to listen to your doctor and listen to your own body. (since each of us are so wonderfully different). 12 more days to gooooo!!!
  7. Yep, 2week pre-op diet. MAX 30grams of Carbs (do you know how little that is!!!!) and at Least 70grams of Protien with moderation of Fat (No fried foods, butters, high fat dressings, or meats) Surger on 5/30 with Dr. Longoria at Southwest Bariatrics in Austin, TX
  8. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge regarding Dr. Mario Longoria with Southwest Bariatrics in Austin, TX? I am scheduled for surgery on 5/30/07 at Seton Medical Center (38th St) in Austin, Texas. :nervous
