    December. 18th

Dang it, I'm definitely a slow loser. I have only lost 15 pounds since Dec 18th, when I was sleeved. Oh well. 15 is more than none. I'm heading to the doc tomorrow. Glad to have this mini group to check in with.
  3. I was sleeved on Dec 18th and have been incredibly lucky to not have any complications. I threw up my pain meds once in the hospital- not fun! But other than that no issues eating or drinking, other than I'm full really quick. For the most part I am getting 48-64 oz of water/G2 a day and about 60g of Protein a day. It does seem that I am ALWAYS thinking of eating and drinking and I hope that this becomes second nature eventually. Last week, a friend and I booked a trip to Botswana, which is country directly north of South Africa. (I wasn't quite sure where it was located prior to booking.) I'm very excited for this trip, except for the 16 hour direct flight. I'm PRAYING that I lose as close to 50 lbs as possible to make that flight bearable. We'll be on safari's and visiting a few cool places like Victoria Falls. This mission to lose has given me the motivation to hop on the treadmill at work tomorrow when my day is done. I have to say that I could never have kept my head up through this process without weight loss forums. Every time I get bummed out I hop on and seeing others succeed brings me such joy. Not to mention how wonderfully supportive people are. NSV: 1- Can fit in my favorite winter jacket again 2- My double chin is gone. (Come on belly....) 3- My feet are smaller 4- The jeans that I have lived in after surgery (super soft and stretchy) can be taken off without using the button or zipper.

    Any Other Dec 19th Sleevers?

So, I'm Dec 18th but figured I'd drop in. I was scheduled for noon on the 18th and they kept pushing my surgery back until 6pm. Since I felt like a lifetime, it might as well been the 19th. As of today I have lost 15 lbs from surgery date. From what I can tell, I'm a slow loser, but honestly it's not stressing me out. I am getting 48- 64 oz of water a day and usually about 60-70 g of protein, so I think I'm doing well. My new addiction is forming though- I LIVE on this forum and a few others. It gets me through my funks.
  5. I'm elated to be going on this safari in March and pray that I lose 40-50 pounds before the trip, mostly because I have to sit on a plane for 16 hours straight. Ugh!!!!! For the past few years, I travel with a prayer that the seat belt will actually connect and then do everything I can to squeeze into the window to give as much space as possible to my neighbor. I fully understand that everyone loses at a different speed and I'm afraid I'm a slow loser, having only lost 12 pounds in 13 days post surgery. I'm really not unhappy being a slow loser, but the thinner I am for this trip the easier it will be while on that flight. Wish me luck sleeve fam!

Hows your weight loss coming along?

    highest weight: 267 surgery day, 12/18: 257 today, 12/31 day 13: 245
  7. Joy, thank you much. And i will share a few pictures. My friend Sam and I have used a company that allows you to travel on you own but sets it all up. They had a great description of a tour in Botswana so we decided to go for it. Highlights include: 3 safaris (boat, jeep and walking) and visiting a traditional village and Victoria Falls. By the way, I had no clue where Botswana was in Africa prior to this trip. If you are in the same boat as me, it's the country directly north of the country South Africa.
  8. Sooo excited to read your blog. I have it book marked and will enjoy learning about your journey. Thank you for posting here and congrats on your new body. You look absolutely amazing.
