  5. I have my pre admissions appointment in the morning and I have 7 days until surgery! I'm a bag of emotions! Happy, nervous, scared, anxious, excited! You name it and I'm feeling it right now. Asking for positive vibes and prayers that all goes well with my pre admissions appointment and nothing will come up that would stop my surgery from happening. ????   9. @@Monica K I start the preop diet Thursday 10/20, I have my preop appt at the hospital on 10/27 and then surgery on my 11/3. I will ask at the preop appt what to bring. I'm a member of a support group on Facebook and a couple of things I keep hearing to bring is chapstick, pillow for ride home, phone charger, heating pad, toothbrush.   13. I was so upset when my surgeon's office submitted my file because I just knew it would be denied because I hadn't completed all the nutrition visits but by the grace of God it worked out! Praying for you all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I have UHC through my employer and the process has been easier then I imagined. I actually got approved before completing my 6 nutritional visits, I only did 4. File was submitted and approved in 3 days. BMI over 40 and no comorbitities. My surgery is scheduled for 11/3 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I report directly to the hospital. I won't see my surgeon again until the day of surgery which is the 11/3. I'm getting so nervous as time gets closer but excited as well Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I know all surgeon's are different but per the PA this is what will happen at my pre op appt which is a week before my surgery: During the pre-op appointment you will meet with a Nurse to provide instructions on when to arrive for surgery and how to prepare the night before, also Anesthesia, and Nurse Case Manager to be sure you have care for after you leave the hospital and myself. I will go over the bowel prep for the day before surgery and also the hospital course. You will have labs drawn to check your blood type along with your electrolytes and white/red blood cells.   19. Anyone taking Probiotics before surgery? And if so what are the benefits? I'm trying to make sure that my body is as strong and as healthy as possible before surgery in the hopes to eliminate any complications after.   20. Just a quick update- for whatever reason my doctors office submitted my info for approval to the insurance company before I completed my 6 visits. I had only completed 4 and the insurance specialist submitted it because she said she thought I was through. Nonetheless it was somehow approved without me completing those last two visits! So my surgery is scheduled for 11/3!!!!! Super excited and nervous as well Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
