Breastfeeding Post-Op
You can pump now & freeze! Give ur little one the frozen milk & pump & dump right after surgery while u are on the pain meds. If you can get enough stored milk to get through surgery & the week after you should be good. The first week is clear liquids so your milk will have little nutritional value. If your child is 8 months old you should consider adding baby cereal & oatmeal to his diet. Once they reach about 4-5 months old they need more than just breast milk or formula. Whatever you decide, good luck!

Weight gain 3 weeks post-op?!?
So I'm 23 days post op. DOS I was 241#. I weighed myself on X-Mas & was 225#. Just weighed myself today & I'm 229#. WTH?? I'm on puréed foods & am sticking to my diet & exercising.. Is anyone else having this problem? I thought I would have lost at least 5-6# over the week I didn't weigh in.. But I never thought I would have gained 4#!!! :'(

Do anybody have really bad acid reflux since u were sleeved? If so, what r u doing to ease the acid?
I think you should ask your doc for something.. My doc puts everyone on Protonix for a whole year after surgery.. Said that people who have the sleeve often get acid reflux very bad Hope you feel better soon!

Pain...
I thought we weren't allowed ibuprofen? Can cause ulcers very quickly in WLS patients.. from what my surgeon said. I hope you feel better soon & it's nothing too serious! Xxx

Any one considering the DS? Or actually had it?
The original poster asked what people had to say.. So why when people give their opinion (Fishy) are they being criticized for it? :/

Hows your weight loss coming along?
I agree, but I think 9lbs was all the fluids they pumped in me at the hospital

Hows your weight loss coming along?
Hello everyone! Just curious to find out how my fellow December sleevers are doing on weight loss. If you could post the day you were sleeved, how much you have lost, & any other info you want to share. Will be nice to see how everyone's doing. I guess I will start. I was sleeved December 10. I got home from the hospital weighing 255lbs. Today I'm at 233lbs.

Looking For Dec Sleevers Out There
I was sleeved 12/10 & have lost 16# since surgery! I'm in some pain but the weight loss makes up for it.

December Surgeries?
I was sleeved 12/10 & I'm miserable! I was supposed to be on full liquids but can't swallow them with out them feeling like they get stuck, so had to switch back to clear liquids. My main incision site hurts very bad & I honestly have had moments I've regretted doing this.. I hope I get to where others are soon because this is awful!

Looking For Friends
I was sleeved on 12/10 & am at home recovering. I live in the Bay Area of California, but would love to have new friends anywhere that understand what I'm going through. Feel free to send me a message or chat!

So, really inappropriate weird question...
I was sleeved 12/10 & swallowing 12/12. Didn't fill me up, & didn't make me sick. Just made my husband happy & sleepy. LOL

How much is too much pain?
I'm thinking maybe I should go back to clear liquids. I just got off them yesterday & that's kind of when I started feeling worse. I don't think I over do it, I try to rest as much as possible. I'm in so much pain that I have to use a cane to get up from seated positions & sometimes I even need the support when I'm walking around.

How much is too much pain?
I was sleeved Monday 12/10 & went home the next day. I have been in so much pain it has brought tears to my eyes several times today. It's not gas pain, I believe I have finally walked all of that out. I'm not constipated, I finally went after 6 days. I feel like something is stuck in my lower chest or stomach. I am having a hard time even swallowing down my pudding & creamed soups because it feels like they get stuck. It hurts sooo bad. I have only been able to take a few sips of water & even that hurt. On top of that "stuck" pain, my main incision site is very painful & it hurts to really move around. I just want to know if either of these things are normal? How long does it take before the incision pain & pain inside goes away? Help! :'(

Coughing up green mucus?
My doc warned me ahead of time about this. You need to take SLOW & LONG deep breaths in. Inhale as slow & deeply for as long as you can. My doc said to do this 10 times every hour while awake for the first week. It acts as a fan & drys out your lungs, preventing pneumonia.

Warning...possible graphic post. I'm only 3 days post op..
You are lucky! I'm on liquids for 2 weeks, then puréed for 3 weeks.. Then I hit soft foods. I can't wait for that.. I'm already sick of jello!

Anyone Know Of A Small Vitamin?
Bariatric advantage sells chewables that are actually not bad. Good variety of flavors.

You should NOT take miralax! Or any other by mouth laxative. You should not put anything in your pouch that has not been preapproved by your doctor. The reason you are constipated is all of the pain meds you are on. I asked my doc & he said its normal to not go for 4-6 days after surgery. If it starts becoming bothersome you can use a suppository. Sold next to the laxatives, work in about 10-30 minutes. Don't put anything in your pouch you haven't talked to your doc about.

Yes I walk nearly every hour for 5-10 minutes
