  1. For those that have developed a marginal ulcer after revision, what did you drink? I'm losing my mind. Even my shakes I put a shot of espresso. I live for coffee. Seems like most tea is off limits. I need suggestions. It's been 2 months of this & surgeon just said at least another 3 months of carafate 3 times a day hoping it will heal by then because it's still angry
  2. So, I'm going to have a consult to try IV therapy tomorrow. One, to hydrate, & two, to help me get more vitamins in. Hoping that helps. Crazy expensive though. It's just weird because I have zero desire to put anything in my mouth, when I think I do, I look at & I'm like, nope. Thank goodness for cheese, it's really the only thing I enjoy right now
  3. Well, good to know it's normal! Thank you!
  4. I am almost 5 weeks post op. I lost A LOT right after surgery. I really didn't eat the first week, and barely the second week. After week three, I am not losing, sometimes gaining. This is freaking me out. I know it can be sodium, the fact that I am soooooo not regular, but, shouldn't I be losing?! I find it impossible to drink protein shake, water, and get all the protein in. All I had was a few ounces of chicken for dinner last night and couldn't drink a drop after. I am definitely dehydrated. I am coming up with ways to force me to drink, like alarms on my phone, but I would need to set an alarm every few minutes! Most days, I get one protein shake in, 20 onces of water, & one actual meal that is small. Ugh.
  5. Oh man! Yeah, I could not vomit it up but I wanted to!! And it lasted at least 3 hours. It's weird. The scale isn't moving, but I see a big difference in my legs and face.
  6. March 9, Almost 4 weeks out
  7. Checking in to see how you're doing? Holding up ok?
  8. Thanks everyone. Woke up feeling so much better. Was afraid at the thought of even drinking today, but protein shake is going down just fine. Whew! Sure did teach me a lesson! I was scared, cuz whew, that wasn't fun. Glad it's over. So thankful for this community who helps encourage each other through this!
  9. I'm on soft food stage and did salmon tonight for dinner with cooked carrot. I hadn't eaten all day & I just wasn't thinking and I ate too much, as I ate so quickly. I have Stomach pains, I've heaved, but only saliva comes out. It's so freaking painful! Will NEVER do this again. Terrible feeling
  10. I've really been struggling with Protein shakes until my bff who has had rny suggested chocolate fairlife shake with a shot from my nespresso pods. GAME CHANGER! Just wanted to share in case anyone else would like it as much as me!
  11. Did anyone struggle with, I don't know if it's body dysmorphia or what, but right after surgery? I'm so fearful that this also won't work for me, that I can see how not eating can be tempting. Just so afraid it won't work.
  12. I'm only 2 weeks out, so I hope others chime in. Excited for you to start this new journey!
  13. So, I am almost 2 weeks out. My sleeve never healed correctly, and my surgeon reccomended revision to rny. I was like you. Sleeve, no problem, I can still eat, just less, but rny terrified me because of dumping. Recovery has been harder for me with this, but, weigh in last Friday, I was told to move ahead to purees, because I've lost so much already. It's getting easier everyday. I know I will be thankful I did this. I'm right ahead of you, so message me if you need any support. You've got this!
  14. Isn't that strange?! Cuz our pouch is like the size of an egg, but I keep hearing this. I gotta get thru this isolating stage & I know my spirits will pick up. It has just been such a hard recovery for me and I wasn't prepared for that. I do NOT want to mess this up. I want to be a good patient and be successful..but still enjoy a taco, lol
  15. I was sleeved before my revision. It took a little bit, but I enjoyed everything you listed. It's why I wanted bypass in the beginning because I needed something to really help me with that. I'm not typical. Wasn't a big eater before sleeve or after. A regular day for me was 700 calories, but I drank my calories, lol. Mostly in coffee. I could drink coffee all day & be fine, then maybe a little bit of steak w/ veggies for dinner. But if we were on vacation, forget it, I would eat ALL the things. I could still eat everything I did pre sleeve, after the sleeve. It was just that waiting period waiting for my sleeve to heal. I LOVE sparkling water, and I keep picking up a can and staring at it, lol. My sleeve recovery was super easy. You'll do great!
  16. For those of you sleeved, then revised to by-pass, did you feel depressed at all? Like with the sleeve, I could eat or drink what I wanted. I'm only a week post op, but the thought of not having hot spiced wine or a mojito ever again is depressing. I'm DREAMING of a taco. With the sleeve, I couldn't eat a whole one, but a tortilla with guac, beef, pico, and cheese!! The fear of never being able to eat or drink normally again just keeps flooding my mind. Tell me I'm not alone please, lol
  17. Ok, this is an old post, but I'm thankful I found it. Starting 5 days post op, I can barely sit, and I cannot lay down without pain. This has never happened to me. Pain meds aren't even touching it. Last night, I was up walking in circles until 3am. It's a deep pressure ache. So thankful to see I'm not out of my mind. Did it just go away for you? I have a 2 day drive coming very soon to get home & I don't think I'll make it
  18. I LOVE cooking with spices. I love spices. I've wanted to add all kinds to broth, but so far, just tumeric. I'm so nervous to overdo it! I'm not a bland fan. Like craving cumin lamb and scallion pancakes, lol.
  19. Good advice. I'll wait!
  20. I really want strained Sopa de tortilla soup. How soon did you try spicy stuff? Yesterday I heated up a can of vegetable beef soup, added a little water, strained it and drank the broth. It was so savory and delicious. Trying to give myself ideas.
  21. Thank you for the encouragement. Can't wait to feel "normal"
  22. So No blot clots, and lab work normal, but cannot sit or lay down because it aches so bad. I don't get it
  23. Well, they made me go in for labs & now I'm waiting on ultrasound to rule out blood clots. I truly don't think it's clots. They want me to drink broth for sodium, it's just everything besides water was making me nauseous, so I've only been sticking to water
  24. Oh my word. It's terrible. Truly, I get up & just walk because the pain from sitting or laying down is so bad. I'm so sorry you're continuing to deal with it!
  25. 5 days post-op and my legs ACHE. I can't sleep, can't sit. I do not remember this after the sleeve. I really am only drinking water. I've been so nauseous, I can't stomach protein water. I'm on clear liquid stage. Anyone else struggle with this?
