  9. Thanks for this information! I have always used a brush on my legs when bathing, since it keeps them smooth. This should surely help.

  13. Had a great time on vacation! There were so many food options that I was able to stay on soft foods (mostly, i had a couple slip ups). I did work out on the ship and stayed very active. At night I slept like a log with the rocking of the ship. A few times I felt a little exhausted and took mid day naps. I did not want to come home!
  14. I had my first post op appointment today. I was disappointed at first when a nurse told me that I would not be able to swim for 6 weeks. I leave for a 7 night cruise in two days! After my doctor looked at my stomach, he advised me that my wounds were completely closed and healed. I was cleared to swim. I was so happy! I am on soft foods. I am so tired of Protein. The taste and smell makes me sick! I will not be able to eat much on this cruise or drink any alcohol, but I will still have a good time enjoying the rest and relaxation in the sun.
  15. I am experiencing vertigo now. What did you do to treat it? How long did it last? Did you have problems with vertigo pre surgery? Thank you for your help. I have an appointment with my surgeon next week.
  16. My surgery went much better than I expected! I was up and walking the same day. I did a two night stay, then was released to go home. I was fortunate to not have any nausea or vomiting. I actually went back to work a week post op. I have a sit down job. I have absolutely no regrets. The only thing that I am tired of is the Protein Drinks. Ugh! I have to find a better way of getting it in. I cant stand the taste or smell anymore. Yuck!
  17. Congrats on your recovery. I am 1 week post op and i feel pretty good. I just wanted to let you guys know that there is an unflavored protein by Unjury that can be added to almost everything without changing the flavor. I too am sick of the liquid proteins! I am in the puree stage, so I add the unflavored protein to everything. This way I can get more protein in.
  18. I am happy to hear that everyone is doing better now. I am actually at work today. I am working a full 8 hours, however if I start getting tired I will leave and go home early. The only problem that I am having is with my lower incision. When I sit up right, it gets irritated and burns. I have my chair at my desk reclined back some, so that this does not affect me. I hope that I am not doing too much to soon. But I feel fine and have not had any problems with nausea or vomiting. I am on pureed foods and taking it very slow eating. So excited about the next coming months.
  19. I hope you feel better nursemeg. I have not had these symptoms. I only felt nauseous once yesterday, but it went away quickly. I'm just experiencing gas pains in left shoulder. My wound where drain tube is located is sore. Other that that, I'm fine..
  20. Surgery started at 7am. Was up and walking by 1130.
  21. Yes, it taste just like regular pasta. Much better than whole wheat pasta in my opinion.
  22. Mandymay, different men like different things. There are some men who just prefer larger women. I am not in a relationship, but there are guys I know that would take me just as I am because they are attracted to larger women. And it is possible that they may no longer be attracted to me once I lose weight. Because of this, I have decided not to persue a relationship right now. I know that it may sound shallow, but people like what they like. Another issue is, as you lose weight and gain even more confidence; people around you may develop insecurities. I had a guy tell me that I was already beautiful and that if I lost weight it would be over kill! Obviously he was afraid that if I lost weight, more guys would be interested in me and I would no longer be interested in him. Dealing with insecure people can be menatlly draining. I ain't got time for that! Being on this liquid diet is draining enough! My focus right now is on what makes me happy opposed to what makes others happy. I have put myself on the back burner for far too long. Not any more... It's my time to find the best in me.
  23. I am also due for surgery on November 19th. I live in Charlotte, NC. Nursemeg, I have a question for you... What should I pack to take to the hospital with me on the morning of surgery? I forgot to ask my surgery nurse this question. BTW, I have to be at the hospital at 5:00am. My surgery should began at 7:00am. I have lost 15 pounds on the preop diet. Good luck ladies!
  24. Hello everyone! Coming to you from Charlotte, NC. I am a newbie on VST. I am scheduled to have surgery on 11/19/2012. Just six days away!!! I am nervous and excited! I have so many questions and do not know where to begin. I guess I will start with just reading the post. Wish me luck!
