I have wanted WLS for over 7 years. Every time I would look into and start to get the ball rolling, something happened, insurance coverage would change, told different criteria every time I talked to them, change of insurance companies, etc. This is my 4th time looking it to WLS. I started off talking to the HR person that deals with the insurance coverage, she told me that several people on the insurance have been approved and had surgery, but they let the Dr.'s office do all the work with the insurance co. My BMI is 51.4 and I have high BP, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis in both knees, GERD, and urinary stress incontinence, all of these are considered co-morbidity's with my insurance and the BMI for a sleeve with them is 50. I am currently in the 6 month pre phase, I will be going for my 4th appointment with the dietitian next week. So, hopefully (fingers crossed) I will get the OK and a sx date sometime by the beginning of next year.
