  1. Hi all, I began the puree phase yesterday, and am having some trouble figuring this all out. My physician expects us to get between 80 - 100 grams of Protein in daily, and how the heck can I do that at this time? I can only eat a couple of tablespoons of food. So I end up mixing my shakes to get the protein, and they fill me up, so I don't want the puree. I'm just not sure how to successfully make this transition. Any suggestions?
  2. I am a 10/31 sleever, but this threat has been so inspiring and helpful to me! Thank you!
  3. I am so glad to read that I am not the only one! Fortunately the feeling passed relatively quickly, and hasn't returned since. I am reading that some are saying this is a symptom of an eating disorder, but I think we should recognize that going weeks without eating any solid food is not normal either! We are human, and humans eat, humans chew, and it is ok to miss that sensation.
  4. That does make sense to me, your metabolism rises when your body is fighting an infection.
  5. I have a later surgery date, but I wanted to tell you all how much I enjoyed hearing all of your thoughts and tribulations! It is heartening to me to know that I am not alone. I am amazed that you are all back to work after 2 weeks! I am planning on taking more time, perhaps because I don't have a desk job. I am craving food too, not necessarily sweets, especially meat and pizza. I was thinking about going ahead and chewing on something I like, just for the mouth pleasure, and then spitting it out into a napkin rather than swallowing it. Does that sound super gross?
