  1. Hi guys - I haven't posted in here for so long and I'm so out of touch, but I hope everyone is doing really well. I just wanted to share a "benefit" of losing my 30kg - I've just been diagnosed with breast cancer and if I hadn't lost the weight I wouldn't have found the lump and gone for testing. So for me, having my sleeve done has paid off big time! Another reason why I'm so glad I did it!!

    Exercise virgin...

I haven't exercised properly for at least 12 years so am in need of some advice please. I was sleeved 31 October so am about 10 weeks post op. This week I've started riding my bike (done about 15km in 3 days) and walk/jog using the C25K app. I know I need to incorporate weights into my exercise routine and I would really appreciate some advice on how to work on my "bat-wing" arms (the floppy bit that hangs down when I extend my arms out to the side...) :-)
  3. Hi guys - first time poster, long time reader...have been following everyone's ups and downs since I was sleeved on 31 October, so Ii feel like I know you all already! I'm down 20kg (yay) and just have to share something with people who will understand - today I got on my new bike that I got for Christmas and went for a ride with my hubby and kids. I haven't been on a bike in over 20 years!! We rode around the bike paths for about an hour, and I can't wipe the smile off my face... No doubt I'll have sore legs tomorrow, but I'm so proud of myself!! Look forward to getting to know you all better.
  4. I was sleeved on 31 October (about 8 weeks ago) - pre surgery: 118kg - today: 99kg - on my way!!!

    Australian Sleevers.

Hi Louise, I'm from Brisbane and was sleeved on 31 October. The day of my surgery I weighed in at 111kg (244.2 lb) and this morning (day 9) I weighed 103kg (226.6 lb). Look forward to chewing the fat with you...lol Cheers mate Sue :-)
  6. Hi I was sleeved on 31 October and so far so good. Day 1 and day 2 were a little rough - crushed ice was about all I could manage, but last night I slept like a baby and am feeling great today. I'm on free fluids and have managed about a tablespoon of yoghurt and about the same of black tea. I also had my gall bladder removed at the same time so I have 7 wounds on my tummy which are healing nicely. Heading home today so I'm a bit apprehensive about that, but looking forward to being in my own bed. So glad I've done this, and proud of myself for taking control of my life. Best of luck to everyone else on this path. :-)
