Anume81: eek!! It's so close... I keep thinking that tomorrow I'm going to think : "My surgery is NEXT week" how are you holding up?- Does everyone's BM schedule change post op?
I'm pre-op and I have read a lot of threads on here about people having problems with BMs early on after surgery, but does everyone's "schedule" change after surgery, in the long run? Is it just "less" or "less frequent" because you are eating less? Is it uncomfortable if you can't go or are you ok with the change? Just curious, my surgery date is 12/20 & I've always been very regular...- Why dont I have a pre-opp diet?
I don't have a pre-op diet either, my surgery date is 12/20, I specifically asked about it and was told only not to eat after midnight the night before... I've done a few searches here on the message boards and I've found a few people that did not have one, from what I've read none of them had any complications because of this...- December Surgeries?
Congrats ladies!!! How exciting good luck & keep us posted- Dreamfields "low Carb" Pasta
I've used these (pics) Shirataki Noodles, they are endorsed by Hungry Girl and have angel hair, spaghetti, macaroni, fetuccini, etc. my fave is the angel hair pasta it is tofu, so really it will take on the flavor of any sauce you put it in. Okay, it smells a little funky when you open the package, but I normally throw the pasta in a colander to remove the liquid and rinse it with some hot water before putting it in the sauce and heating. I'm still pre-op but my old NUT told me these were good as a filler (she still wanted me to get SOME carbs at least) she approved though... This one says 20 calories (5 fat cals.) and 3 g carbs per serving (2 servings per package)- Now Serving...
Eek!! So exciting that today is the day, good luck- Feeling Great... Before And After
You look amazing!! I am amazed at how much younger most people look after the weight loss... You look about 10 years younger get it girl! Thanks for the inspiration!!- 65 Lbs Down
You look FABuLOUS!!- 65 Lbs Down
Congrats!!! You look great!! When did you have your surgery?- Almost In Onederland!
You look amazing!! Like a completely different person, I'd say 10-15 years younger... Get it girl!!!- December Surgeries?
I have also only told a few people, my Dad and my Husband, who will both be there the day of surgery and 2 close girlfriends... Also 1 person at work knows.... Like MeltingMamma said, other people have not done the research like we have and honestly, I'm not ready for the judgement. Eventually I will tell the rest of my family (after surgery) however I don't think I will ever tell coworkers... I just worry that some people wont get it and I will be accused of taking the "east way out" (which WE all know is not true) and/ or that those same people will diminish my accomplishments simply because I didn't lose the weight in the way they think I should....- Sweet Stuff- Bleh! All I Want Is Broth...
I'm stull pre-op but I've been reading up on the different protein brands... Unjury makes a chicken soup flavor and an unflavored one... Maybe that would help? The only thing I did read was not to mix it in anything that was hotter than 140 degrees b/c the texture changes... Good luck! Would love to hear your findings!- December Surgeries?
Dcline: Houston @ Memorial Hermann Memorial City you?- What's Nsv?
Yay! Thanks y'all- What's Nsv?
Ok, I'm fairly new & I have been reading lots of posts with "NSV" through context clues I have figured out it's a good thing, yes? But what does it stand for?? Here are my guesses: New Sleeve Victory ... New Size Victory...? That's all I got...- December Surgeries?
Cbaker, was the sleep apnea test a Dr. Requirement or insurance?- December Surgeries?
Dec. 10 Is right around the corner What's the pre-op seminar about?- December Surgeries?
How exciting!! That is the same reason I am having the surgery (other than the obvious) i want to get healthy so my Hubby and I can start our family good luck, keep us posted!!- December Surgeries?
I have BCBS of TX and it took them exactly 3 weeks and 2 days to approve... But from many posts I have seen here, lots of people have gotten approval between 1 and 3 days... I think my case was the exception rather than the rule. When My paperwork was submitted to insurance, my Dr. Office told me it usually takes 1 week but the insurance would have 30 days to approve or deny...- December Surgeries?
My NUT appointment lasted about 1 hour-ish. She went over portion sizes, all the food groups, what foods/vitamins I should be eating before surgery to prepare as well as post op diet. Talked about getting in all the protein and what order I should eat in. She gave me a couple of booklets one with basic food group stuff and one with post op diet guidelines... Hope this helps- December Surgeries?
Hi there! What's your date? Mine is scheduled for Dec. 20- 1 Month Count Down...
Heeeyyyy! My surgery is scheduled for Dec. 20, i am so anxious, excited, scared and READY... 5 weeks seems like a long time, but everyone keeps telling me it will fly by I have already had the blood work (12 tubes!), I hade an Echo and psych eval and one NUT meeting as a letter from her was required for my insurance approval. It took about 3 weeks to get insurance approval, my Next Dr. Consult is supposed to be the first week of Dec. and I was told I would not be on a pre-op diet... Also, I'm 28 and in Houston, TX- Set Back So Upset...
You CAN everything happens for a reason!! I'm not sure what the repercussions could be of them doing the surgery with the bacteria there, but I'm sure it's a good thing they caught it i know it kinda sucks, but all you can do is be positive... Remember why you are doing this, it will all be worth it!!- I'm Sleeved!
Eek!! So exciting!!! Congrats!!! Are you just sore? No major pain? - Does everyone's BM schedule change post op?
