Gaining weight before surgery!
So I was approved for the Sleeve on January 29th after fighting my insurance company for almost 3 months. I have been in contact with my doctors office since October 28th which was my initial weigh in. Well I did good for the first month than the fighting began with CIGNA. I got so stressed out that over the holidays and until recently I gained 15 pounds since my October weigh in. I have been doing strict dieting since January 30th and actually started my liquid diet earlier than what they told me. My surgery date is February 11th and I do my "Bootcamp" this Wednesday the 6th. Have you heard of a bariatric office delaying surgery because you gained weight before? All they told me in the beginning was they would "like" to see me lose 10lbs before.

Really Cigna?
I got denied 2 times since December and have fought them since May so I completely understand the way you feel. Cigna reps are idiots in my opinion. I was told sooooo many different things. I got my approval January 29th and I am getting sleeved on February 11th! Woot woot!!! Finally, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck!

Quitting Smoking..
Congratulations to everyone on quitting!! I have a new found respect for smokers that quit. It is a hard challenge but I feel it is one of the better goals that I have ever achieved. Not fully out of the woods yet but I never quit cold turkey before and stuck with it. I always cheated the next day... Sent from my iPhone using VST

Quitting Smoking..
Well it's been 4 days since I have smoked... Just cold turkey. I haven't cheated or anything. The only issue I had were the chemical withdrawals. Dizzy, anxious, nauseous and a little moody. Driving to and from work kinda sucks but it is slowly getting better. I didn't think it would be this easy but since the doctor is giving me no choice that is motivation enough... Quitting Smoking..
My doctor mentioned Chantix but I am against the side effects. I hear a lot of horror stories when it comes to having nightmares and severe depression, both of my parents being one of them. I just chose to do it the healthier way and not take a prescription if it isn't needed plus I for one don't want to go crazy if I don't have to. The nicotine withdrawals can help me with that one.. 3 days is all they say and after that it is just mental.

Quitting Smoking..
So who all had to quit smoking before they were able to have the procedure? I have been a smoker for 12 years now. Unfortunately I picked up the habit when I was 14. Well tomorrow is going to be day 1 of kicking it to the curb. I am thankful for it but also dreading being forced to do it. I decided to pick up crocheting again so I can do something with my hands. What all did you guys do to help kick the habit?
