  1. Wowser! That's an incredible loss! Tell us your secret. What is your daily calorie, carb, protein and water intakes? Are you working out like crazy? Please share.
  2. Congrats to all of you! I can't believe we are all doing so well. I'm a little behind y'all, but I will get there eventually. SW: 298 CE: 245. That's 53 lbs gone forever! It's great to be on the losers bench with all of you. Have a great day.
  3. All I can say is WOW!! You look amazing! I, too, am from Texas. I was sleeved 11/15/12, and have lost 51 lbs to date! You have definitely inspired me. I have struggled with my weight since my elementary school years, and I'm ready to do this. Congrats on the new you!
  4. How many carbs are you all eating day? Are you eating any breads/pastas etc...? Just worried I'm getting too many. I avg 50-55 grams/day. Most of the time less, but sometimes WAY more. Never gone over 100 though.
  5. Great way to be accountable!
  6. You and I have the same (well close enough) stats! Sw:298. Cw: 247. I, too, CANNOT wait to see the scale start with a '1'. What are u eating?
  7. Second floor. Look for arrows or sign in elevator.
  8. I'm not sure how long your pre op lasted, but I'd say losing 88 lbs is anything but slow!!! Even if that were for a 6 month time frame... Wow!!! Congrats on the lose. )
  9. I, too, suffer from PCOS. I am 2 months post op, down 50 lbs, and have started my cycle 2 times on my own since surgery. Before surgery, I was having a period once a year (maybe). Now ive had 2 in 2 consecutive months! The first was just days after surgery so I attributed it to stress to the body. The other came exactly 28 days later and was heavy for a day or two, but otherwise normal. Here's to hoping that PCOS has met it's match!!!
  10. FYI- next mtg at Physicians Centre, 2nd floor, Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 - 5:30-6:15.
  11. Just had to check in with everyone and share my great news!!!! Today I am exactly 2 months post op. I had an appt with my surgeon, and I was surprised to see that I am down 50 lbs! I stalled for a long time and have just recently started losing again. So exciting. Please stay encouraged as we will all get to the place we want to be, in our own time. Losing is losing, no matter how slow it is. We are all going in the right direction.
  12. There are actually 2 groups. One meets at the physicians centre, and the other is at St. Joseph's. The one at physicians cntr meets 2 times per month, (2nd and 4th tuesdays) and just had a meeting this past tues. The other just had one on Thursday. Also if your on Facebook go to "brazos valley bariatric surgery support group" page and join. They send out reminders for the meetings.
  13. Hello all! I was sleeved 11/15 and starting weight was 298. Today my scale read 253! 45 lbs gone FOREVER!! I hit a stall at week 4 and it lasted about 2 weeks, but scale is moving again. Down 2 sizes as well. I am so glad that this thread exist. It keeps me motivated and makes me not feel so alone in this journey. I cannot wait to see how we've all done this time next year!
  14. How much has everyone lost? I am at a stall and want/need encouragement.
  15. Help!! I'm stuck. I have stalled and can not get it moving again. I've been lingering at the same total loss for 2 weeks. I have increased protein, exercise etc to no avail. Getting really discouraged. I know that there is a common stall at week 3, but for how long? I feel like I've lost all I am going to and of course since numerous failed dieting attempts, this does not feel good.
  16. How is everyone doing? I am still trying to get all my liquids in, but proteins are getting much easier. What foods/purees/mushies are you all eating now? Anyone try real food yet?
  17. I too have PCOS. It has always been hard for me to lose. I think I may go back to full liquids for a week or two. I find myself eating the wrong things at times. I figure a bite here and there won't hurt, but that's how I got to where I was to start. Anybody else sneaking bites of your husbands meals?
  18. Hi there! Sleeved 11/15 in College Station Texas. Doing great! Down 32 lbs, but am in a stall right now. What foods are you all eating at this point? Also how much can you eat? I'm afraid I'm eating the wrong things and too much of it. I can eat about 4oz of food at this point. Just seems like much more than most. I've been reading about people only able to eat 2-4 tbsp. I am getting between 60-70 grams of protein. Not doing well on liquids though.
  19. My advice... 1) As soon as the anesthesia wears off GET UP. The more you walk walk walk the better you feel. 2) sip all day long, it's your new mission to get in the protein and water. 3) sleep in an elevated position for a couple of nights (I ended up in my recliner a few nights). 4) keep track of what you eat and drink in a journal. I forget what I have had because it takes so long to finish something. 5) find a protein powder you like now. I tried several pre-op that tasted horrible. It makes it easier post op when you are having to force it down. I am 1 1/2 weeks out and haven't had any complications. I wish you well.
  20. Sf jello. Warm broth. Decaf white tea with splenda and a drop of lemon. Pedialyte popsicles.
  21. I am 1.5 weeks out and I too overdid it. I felt like I could do whatever, but am definitely paying for it today. Rest is on the menu for today.
