  1. I had my surgery with Dr.Perez on December 15th but because of my BMI I had a 2 week pre-op diet. I am three months out and down 60 lbs. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Sent from my iPad using VST

    5 Confessions (Join In)

Did you feel this way before puréed foods. I ask because some puréed foods do that to me. For example I can not eat mashed potatoes. As for as calcium, I use the toffee chews and they are a daily treat. You are not Limited to liquid.

Dr Perez in Cancun with R4AC

I was sleved with Dr.Perez on 12/15 and could not have been happier with the expereence. I am down 35 lbs and have had zero problems. I also went through alma at Ready 4 a Change and had no problems other than i was confused on who handled some of the details (Drivers,Hotel, ect..). If you want to talk to me PM you number and I will be happy to chat about the experence. I do not understand why anyone would want to go to a border town when they can lay on a beach on Cancun.

    Cancun, Mexico

Surgery was on Saturday and I Just wanted to check in and tell you how I was doing. Everything went perfectly, I could not be happier with my choice. Dr.Perez and his team was absolutely wonderful and I can not image why anyone would not pick Cancun over a boarder town. I will give you guys more details when I get back. Right now I am sitting under a cabana, drinking Gatorade , and watching the waves. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Pcp?

I told my PCP and I am glad I did. She insisted on running a full blood panel and found out I was severely anemic. I faxed the lab results to Dr.Perez in Cancun and he said I could avoid a transfusion if I got a Iron iV soon. And that is exactly what I did. But really. You will feel much better having a supportive Dr for follow up care. If your PCP is not on board than you may need to find one that is, and preferably before you go. Sent from my iPad using VST

  14. For those of you who have gone to Mexico, can you help make a list on what to bring. Anything you where thankful you brought or something you wish you had brought. Or maybe things you brought that was totally unnecessary. Thank you in advance for sharing your experience. Sent from my iPad using VST

  16. My doctor ran some test to make sure I was good for surgery and found out my Iron saturation is very low, 5%. The Dr in Mexico still approved me but now I am nervous. Flight is booked and deposit is paid. Did anyone go into surgery with a similar issue? I would really prefer to not get a blood transfusion in Mexico. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Aneimia Concerns

and get a shot. I really can't postpone with my job situation unless I push it till April. Sent from my iPad using VST
  18. I have decided on Cancun for my December sleeve surgery (“relieved sigh”). After requesting info from the three coordinators that work out of Cancun I have discovered that the group of doctors that work there are only doing procedures on the 14th and 15th so I assume the doctors work as a team (verboonen & Perez). After researching both of the Doctors, I am really comfortable with either one. So, my question is…how do I decide which coordinator to use? I have info from Ready4Achange, Medical Tourism Corp, and International Facilitators. All prices are close and honestly I care more about having a good experience than saving a few bucks anyway. I am leaning towards Sheri at International Facilitators because she is actually in Cancun but I am not sure if that matters that much. Can anyone give me any insight on my dilemma? I also welcome information from other people who went to Cancun to get their sleeve. Thank You!

Pcp Scared The Crap Outta Me

I just told my PCP Monday and I literally cried when she said she would support me. She ran a crap load of blood work and gave me per-op diet tips to shrink my liver. I had already decided that I was going to go to another Dr if she was not going to support me. My plan was to call the bariatric group in town and ask what doctor frequently send them patients. I will tell you she was a little taken bake with how inexpensive the surgery was in Mexico by had not problem with it. Sent from my iPad using VST
