  1. Tomorrow morning I begins 9 day pre op liquid diet. I am excited, but very nervous. I grilled my surgeon at my pre op visit, he knows what he is doing. I feel like I am subconsciously trying to find reasons NOT to have surgery. I also am sick, as is everyone in my house. It seems like its all happening so fast....
  2. 22lbs!!! Wow George, that is awesome!
  3. I asked my surgeon yesterday at my pre op visit and he also does not do the barium swallow. He does the leak test right after the surgery with water and air also. He said te barium swallow is old school and has a 50% false positive rate.
  4. I have my pre op appointment tomorrow. Then I will start my 9 day liquid diet on Sunday. It's all beginning to become a reality. All of the people that have already had surgery are definitely helping to calm my nerves!
  5. Ohhhhhh, what a bummer! It's all going to workout in the end. Your family will reconverge to be there for you again.
  6. Good luck to everyone getting sleeved this week! I am hoping you all have wonderful recoveries!
  7. I am scheduled for surgery on November 27 in saranac lake ny. I am very nervous about the whole event, but mainly about the dietary changes afterward. I am a super busy person and the thought of having to put so much thought into what I eat seems daunting. I will be out of work for 6 weeks post op. I guess that gives me plenty of time to get used to it!
  8. I'm sorry but it makes me so happy to see that everyone else is freakimg out also . Everyone at my work keeps saying "aren't you excited?". I say, "no, I am freaking out!" 17 more days to go. I keep feeling like I should call and cancel it, but I know I would live to regret that forever. All of the post op stories helpe push forward. You are such a great group of people.
  9. I am glad to hear that everyone that has been sleeved so far is doing so well. I have 20 days left til my turn. I seem to be eating everything in sight! We are having thanksgiving dinner this Monday. I am starting to get very anxious. I hope George checks in soon. He was so afraid to have surgery.
  10. We are going to have thanksgiving on the 12. My surgery date is the. 27, so also will be on a liquid diet for the holiday. My plan is to work a 12 hour shift in the ER! Just stay busy and try and fogey about all of thanksgiving yum mines!
