  1. Thank you! He's gorgeous isn't he?
  2. Hi! Nope! I'm sure Dr. Aceves is an excellent Dr. I've heard wonderful things about him, his staff, and Almater hospital. Dr. Alvarez was just a better fit for me. Travel -wise and research wise, I decided to go with him. But! My friend from church went to Aceves four years ago and still maintains his weight loss of almost 200 lbs!! I just had the procedure Monday by Dr. Alvarez and I couldn't be happier! I know you'll do great! God bless you on your journey!
  3. Sweetsusie! I showed Dr. Alvarez your pic! He remembers you and commented on how thin you are. I forgot to tell Jessica, sorry. But I was dealing with some pain today. Everyone here is so nice! I'm sad to be leaving tomorrow. But very hopeful for my future. :-)
  4. Yay! It's almost time! Congratulations Coolmama!! You must be so pyched!! Keep us posted and I'll see you on the losers bench :-) Whoo hoo! I've always wanted to say that :-)
  5. Thanks guys for your support, prayers, and well wishes. I woke up and read them all and they gave me a smile :-) I'm still hooked up to the IV and in hardly any pain. No acid reflux, hardly any discomfort. I slept like a rock. But! I did bring ear plugs ( my cousin snores lol). I'm just gonna surf the web a little and go back to bed.
  6. Soooo excited!!! (Yet groggy, lol) Everything was so quick and easy. I don't remember a thing. I was the second today to have my surgery. There were only 4 for the whole day. At around 10:30 AM I was given something to relax me, and at 3:30 I woke up already having been in my hospital room for hours. I was only under for 35 min. But I still needed my rest I guess. Then I had my cousin call my people (family, friends) for me and let them know I was ok. Then I went back to sleep till 6-6:30. Then I got up and walked down the hallway. Climbed back in bed, had my cousin and Jesus set up my extension cord, plugged in my iPhone and iPad and I'm good to go :-) I totally recommend Dr. Alvarez!! Not only is he fine! But he's sweet, funny, and good at what he does. His staff is great too! I'll probably add more as my stay here goes on, but for now I'm tired. Goodnight :-)
  7. Blessings on your journey! My surgery is tomorrow too! I'm already here at the hotel in TX. We cross the border tomorrow :-)
  8. My surgery isn't until tomorrow and I've been drinking liquids all day. I do plan to tell Dr. Alvarez I cheated though. Thanks for the advice :-)
  9. I'm not gonna miss my thighs rubbing together. Not being able to paint my own toes without cutting off my air supply. Having to wear flip flop instead of sexy strappy heals, my double chin and overall huge face. My back fat, or arm fat. I'm looking so forward to seeing my jawline again for the first time in like 11 yrs! And all the shopping for cute summer clothes I have to look forward to. I'm looking forward to the energy and mobility I'll have. Surgery is tomorrow!!!!
  10. I just was on American Airlines and it was a tight squeeze. Last week I flew Delta and that was better. And I'm a size 16. I gotta say Amanda after reading your post I've had that song stuck in my head. I'm on my way to Texas now, and some impatient people were having a meltdown at the skycap. Anyways, I just sang "I've got a peaceful easy feeling" and smiled :-)
  11. I'm at the airport now, on my way to San Antonio to meet Rosie. Surgery is tomorrow. I'm so psyched!!! I can't wait to meet Dr. Alvarez
  12. You guys were so awesome. All your suggestions worked and I was able to stay on the liquid diet 3 days in a row. Today however, the fourth day, I was under an extreme amount of stress and couldn't sleep. I was only too happy to call up the delivery and order food. They deliver till 5 AM. I gotta leave for the airport in 4 hours. Surgery is tomorrow and I just ate my brains out. Feeling miserable But at least I'm tired now and I'll sleep.
  13. Thank you! That's a good idea. I will ask my doctor if its ok. Faith in Christ can move mountains <3
  14. Hi, I'm scheduled for surgery on Monday with Dr. Alvarez. I'm wicked psyched, but so addicted to food! I was supposed to start my liquid diet yesterday. I made it through half the day, then stuffed my face the other half. Today I've done ok, just coffee and chicken broth, but I'm so hungry. My cravings are going off like crazy. Has anyone else started their pre-op diet yet? How are you managing? Any tips or advice would be so welcomed. Btw, I see a food addiction specialists for the first time tomorrow at noon. But I'm seriously worried I'll cave and get food today. Anyways thanks in advance for your help :-) Faith in Christ can move mountains <3
  15. Hi! I'm Dr. Alvarez December 3rd in PN Mexico
  16. High heels! I used to love to walk around in them and not be in pain. Now I can't even where wedge heels without walking funny. By next summer I'll be in strappy sandals, a cute summer dress, and a swimsuit that doesn't look like my grandmothers. :-)
  17. Yay! Aren't you excited? He's such a good doctor. He comes highly recommended :-)
  18. Hi! I actually switched doctors. I'm having surgery Dec. 3rd with Dr. Alvarez
  19. Thanks for all the responses!! I did decide after researching them both to switch to Alvarez. Nothing against Dr. Aceves, he's awesome I'm sure, but it seemed like Alvarez specialized in the sleeve and has done thousands of procedures. I'm booked for Dec. 3rd with Dr. Alvarez :-) I'm psyched!!
