How soon were you allowed to drive after surgery?

I am December 17, too!

i am in San Angelo, too! We aren't bad people once you get to know us .

I am also scheduled for the 17th. I want to strangle your friend now . I am a single parent with three kiddos, aged 12, 10, and 6. I scheduled this date myself in order to recover over the holidays. I have worried about distracting from Christmas and my son's 13th birthday. We settled part of this by deciding to celebrate his b-day early. But, I still worry.

I have been thinking of things I am looking forward to: Sitting in booths, teaching my saughter to jump rope, going down a waterslide with my kids, wearing heels....

When you have any type of surgery, your body has to adjust and "come down" from meds. My bet is that your body is doing that and all the nervousness of the last weeks has relaxed. I know that when I am extremely stressed, I will hold it together until the stress is gone and then sob. Tell your baby that you just have to cry a little to get well.

I had a problem with my 12 year old son this week and nearly called to cancel surgery, thinking "How can I possibly take this time from my kids." I am a single parent of 3 adopted special needs kiddos. I had been trying to figure out how to care for them here and be 4 hours away in a hospital alone. Then my sister, who has MS, called. She has figured out how to get to San Antonio to be with me while her grown daughter comes here to take care of my kids...

Annie- your surgery date is my birthday! I am sure that is worth some kind of good luck.

I was all for this and excited. Last night they called to set my date - December 17- 2 days before my 42nd birthday. Now I am scared.

Just got my date- December 17. I am excited, but terrified, too.
