  1. Born ad raised in Milwaukee but just moved to South Carolina.....wish I culd start a group down here also.
  2. I am kinda happy and sad at the time. Went to my 1 week post-op appt at the doc. I only lost 9 lbs. Others have lost double that. I am happy to have lost but I thought it was more.
  3. Congrats! Stay focused. Great things ahead!
  4. I was also wondering about the hair loss issue. I have a natural afro and wondered what I could do to keep it from shedding? Congrats to the ladies who have upcoming surgeries. My experience was not bad at all and so far week 1 has been great. According to my scale have lost 7 pounds since tuesday.
  5. When this happened to me it was the "having no salt" in my diet anymore. After 4 or 5 days the headaches stopped. Hang in there, you should be alright soon. I know it sucks, lol.
  6. Congrats a million times. I can't wait for that feeling myself.
  7. Ok, so I went through this for two days and didn't realize it was the jello. Does anyone know why this happens? I love my jello, so does this stop afterwhile or do I give away my jello to the kids, lol.?
  8. Thus far my meals consits of water, protein shakes, chicken broth, and jello. I was stuffed all day yesterday. My family of course cooked and ate whatever they wanted but it did bother me any. Since I was never hungery, I never craved what they had.
  9. Hello all. I live in Florence SC. Just got sleeved on sept 18th. Everything went well. I should be going home today. The only thing I noticed is that I now have acid reflux again. Is that normal? When will it stop?
  10. Congrats for reaching ONEderland, lol. I can't wait to see that number also.
  11. First day post-op. All is well. Should go home on time thursday.
  12. Surgery was a success with no complications. This is my first day post-op. Been up and walking. Some back and stomach pain yesterday already gone away today. About to drink my first two oz of water.
  13. Tomorrow is the big day. I have to be there at 6am. I am happy the journey is beginning.
  14. When I look back at my experiences, every "diet" I started failed, that's why I am overweight and using surgery to undo the damage. I was being proactive by begining 3 weeks out thinking I would iron out the bumps ahead of time. I did the meals perfectly to the letter and lost 7lbs the first week. But week two is when it went down hill fast and hard, lol. I don't want anyone to think I have not been trying. This morning I gave myself a good kick and have been on point thus far today. It feels good to have others understand the experience.
  15. My surgery is tuesday. I just have a few days left so I will try better.
  16. Did any one have to have open surgery due to messing up bad during the pre-op stage?
  17. I have not seen mine in 20 years, lol. Can't wait to re-meet my friend, lol.
  18. Surgery scheduled for the 18th. I am not doing a great job at my pre meal plan. Has anyone started? How is that going?
  19. Congrats. I go on the 18th. Is the gas as in burping? Did the doc suggest something to take?
  20. Over the weekend I spent hours shopping for the best protein shake in many different stores. I just can't tell. I bought EAS AdvantEdge and its good but only has 17g of protein. I would have to drink 4 or 5 of them just to get some good protein in my body. Any suggestions on what kind to try that is loaded in protein? I have to get this right.....!
