The program is self paced so you are free to schedule the appointments to fit in your schedule. I started the program Sept 5th and I consider myself pretty motivated to get it done as soon as possible. I am now waiting on the surgery date. I have been treated with respect and kindness throughout my journey. Good luck on your journey. Btw this forum is a great info tool to ask and learn different techniques to be successful adjusting to the sleeve procedure.

Thanks so much for sharing your story.....it gives me(who is still in the pre approval stage) the encouragement to go on.- African American Sleevers
@SugarTee, Praying for you too. Let us know how you are feeling when you feel up to it. God bless you on your journey.- African American Sleevers
Yeah! Girl you did it! Stay positive and continue to listen to your doctor. I will keep you in my prayers. Don't try to do too much too fast. As mothers we are used to getting things done and then" keep it movin"as they say. But listen to your body and heal well. I don't live too far from SAMMC let me know if you need a motivator, support, and just someone to talk to....I am also from Cali....East Palo Alto,San Jose,Sacramento areas.....again praying for a you to have a speedy recovery and a smooth adjustment to your sleeve.- The Skinny On Obesity..
Wow...a lightbulb just came on...thanks- African American Sleevers
Woo hoo! Kalimom you got that date! Being nervous is probably a normal response...keep your eye on the prize. Hopefully I will be sleeved within 30 days of finishing my checklist too. My son will be home from college to help out around then. I went and bought a hand mixer since I get the idea things will have to be puréed while my sleeve is healing..move move move and stay hydrated seems to be the main thing to focus on after surgery so I am starting to take my exercising a little more seriously. I seem to stay on the elliptical a longer time if I sing the lyrics of my music instead of staring at the progress meter screen thingy. My hubby is trying to cheer my on while I am huffing and puffing to Syleena Johnson's "he makes me say" lol ..now I know he is supporting me 'cause I am no songbird!..getting the job done though.- San Antonio ...sammc Sleevers?
Kalimomof3 Thanks for the info..good luck on your sleeve procedure. Please keep posting! You are paving the way for us who are right behind you in our march towards our healthier, happier, slimmer selves.- San Antonio ...sammc Sleevers?
Please share your experience and or advice with the Military hospital before and after care. I am almost done with the checklist but any advice would be helpful. And who was your surgeon?- African American Sleevers
Hi fellow sleevers....I'm a lurker deciding to come out of the shadows. Thank you for allowing me to find a wealth of information on this website. I am implementing new ideas every week to better improve my chances of being a sleeve success. I am getting my sleeve (hopefully) from SAMMC San Antonio Military Medical Center. I hope to be done with the Pre-operative Checklist November 15 and get sleeved before the year is out. Trying to figure out the best way to go about this pre-op diet. Currently I seem to only like the Vanilla EAS carb control Protein drinks...strawberry if I mix frozen strawberries. chocolate...no! What were some of your experiences with training the body to convert protein to fuel as apposed to carbohydrates and what were some of the symptoms? for example head aches...jitters...fatigue? and how long did it last? I've gone natural with my hair and it is short for now...are any of you taking Biotin and is it helping with hair loss? Thanks in Advanced. - African American Sleevers
