  1. Susan 2.0... I just started my pre op diet on the 30th...That 9.8 was DEFINITELY mostly Water weight on me. I've lived on mostly diet coke as liquid for years that once I started drinking all the water, and having to pee every 15 or so minutes, it came off...lol... I have followed the diet to a t though. Awfully proud of myself! Just proves to me how motivated I am to change my life! All of us October sleepers are heading to the losers bench!!! Sent from my iPad using VST
  2. Me too!! October 15! As if this morning, I've lost 9.8 pounds (note the .8. LOL).
  3. I tried going cold turkey the other day and had a bad headache and then realized I can't take aspirin!!! So I had one. Not allowed aspirin or even Tylenol until after surgery and then it's only children's Tylenol. Sent from my iPad using VST
  4. You are preaching to the choir when you talk about diet cokes! I was at least a 6 pack a day..even had one on my nightstand every night. I'm down to one as well. Not fun. But, I was told that if I HAD to have one after the surgery and it was driving me nuts, I could have a FLAT CAFFEINE FREE one. LOL. I just keeping repeating the mantra "nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels". I'm guzzling water and have to pee constantly! I hope that constant urge to go will dissipate. They say its just all the water weight and that my body was holding on to it because I never had enough water and now that I am, it's letting it go. I tried to mix it up a bit with crystal light but it just didn't do it for me! Not a fan of the crystal light. A friend of mine turned me on to the Mio Water Enhancers and they are terrific!!!!!! So many flavors...the orange makes it taste exactly like orange soda but without the fizz. Black cheery the same. I'm going to go to target tomorrow to see if the have a cola flavor. I highly suggest them. You add as much as you want until the flavor works for you. Sent from my iPad using VST
  5. Hi!! I'm on the 3 protein shakes plus 500 calories from food pre op diet. Then 2 days prior to surgery will be clear liquids only. How about you?
  6. Congrats! Let us know how you're doing. My new life begins October 15, 2012!
  7. Hi all! I'm 42, single and getting sleeved at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles on October 15! I can't believe I'm a little more than a week away!
  8. Hi all. I hope to successfully join the losers club on October 15!!! I'm nervous but so excited. I'll admit that reading about the gas pain from everyone is freaking me out a bit. When did it finally subside for all of you?? My new life begins October 15, 2012!
  9. Hi all! Yes, the waiting is TORTURE! I'm getting sleeved on 10/15 and cannot wait for my new life to start....
  10. Hi all. Yes, I'm an "about to be sleeved" singleton. My surgery is 10/15 ... would love some support as well! I think my last straw was the LAST loser...that's when the sh*t really hit the fan with my weight...
  11. Yeah...I did the "shop" today. Vitamins, protein powders, etc. tomorrow is throw out all the BAD food. You have to do ALL LIQuids for 2 weeks prior? Not me...protein drink for breakfast, lunch and mid afternoon. 500 calorie dinner. All liquid 3 days prior then 2 days prior all clear liquids.
  12. Any Socal/Los Angeles area??? My date is 10/15 and could really use a buddy!!
  13. Got my surgery date today... October 15. My biggest anxiety, as ridiculous as it sounds, was telling my boss. I was told not to tell work until I had the date set and today I did it. Now that telling my boss is over, I'm suddenly FLOODED with the fear about the surgery! I'm panicking about atarting the liquid diet for pre surgery. I can't stop wanting to eat everything in sight!!! dde48

  15. God no!!!!! I'm almost there...just waiting on final insurance clearance and then date will be set. But I chose a select few and know its no ones business!!! What your comfortable with is the right thing to do. Support is vital though. Don't do it alone.
  16. Hi all! I'm in the process..have done blood work, orientation class, nutrition orientation class, support group attendance, surgeon consultation...psychologist and dietician are this Friday. All that's left is endoscopy and chest x-ray. Does the surgery ALWAYS require the pre surgery diet? I'm trying to have a date in mid September based on work scheduling and since I've only been at my job for 1 year, I can't take too much time later off. We do have several 4 day weekends end of September/beginning of October which would make this ideal. So again, does it ALWAYS require a pre surgery diet?
