  1. well as i told you all earlier, i got the clay aiken cd.... it was "okay" as simon would say on american idol, it was a safe performance.... the first half was nice, but sounded like any other singer... the second half was much better.... have a wonderful and blessed christmas everyone....
  2. well doug,,, did you ever think you'd be excited to eat yogurt??? hahaha... glad to hear your getting there....
  3. well best wishes with your surgery..... hope all goes great with you..... which hospital are you having it done at???? i heard they now are doing it at st claires hospital in denville.........it was real tough the first couple of days, but not to bad after day 4..... happy birthday, i'll think of you on my bandiversary...
  4. fran maalox and tums are not gonna do it, you need mylicon, or gas x something with simethicone..... i'm a nurse,,, trust me....good luck, won't be uncomfortable for that much longer...
  5. fran.... shoulder pain is from gas..... for some reason, it radiates to shoulders.... any type of simethicone(generic name) mylicon, gas x, etc.... will help the gas break up... also warm fluids, (teas)... and movement...... hope all goes well...
  6. well, we decorated, most of the gifts are bought, not wrapped... i'm so terrible, when i wrap them,, i sometimes buy a different gift, or one i like better.. then i have to unwrap and wrap again... as far as music goes, i bought the clay atkin christmas cd... will let you all know how it is...
  7. fran first few days are a little tough... but well worth the trip... try to move if you can... helps the gas to move...warm tea too. i also took gas x cause the gas pain was more uncomfortable than the surgery pain... also... if you find you have a hard time vomiting, or very nauseous... check your pain med.... mine made me vomit... not something you want to do.... hope this helped.
  8. Lauri.... can't you explain this to your primary doctor, and he could maybe " adjust" the history... do you have any md close to you , or that you know could help... keep pestering the insurance.... just cause they say no once, doesn't mean they will say no again...
  9. you're a real pip... penni.... we all have days like that, as long as they don't turn into months, quarters, season... etc... good luck, getting back on the band wagon... don't beat yourself over it... you'll get back.
  10. Best wishes Doug.... first few days is kind of tough... but it is well worth the trip...... by one week I was feeling pretty good...... I have 2 small kids... so it made it kind of tough.... if you don't have to take care of too much other than yourself, you'll be great.... .keep us posted...
  11. yahoo everyone,,,, i was able to finally change my signature.... 39+ lbs off.....
  12. Dear concerned husband, mine lasted about 6 days.... i think that was worse than anything... if you are able, and can, take something for gas... gas ex, or simethicone.... that will help the gas break... if she can, warm herbal tea, or any tea.... try to keep moving from side to side, even if it is little movement. get the gas to move.... best wishes....the simethicone(generic name) worked for me...
  13. hey veronica... congratssssssss,,, i'm a labor and delivery nurse.... does your band have to be emptied???/ talk to your ob gyn and band md.... you may be able to do with and just eat small very"good" balanced and protein packed meals.... without the band, i lost weight with both my pregnancies... because the baby was sitting high, it felt like i had the band... that was one of the reasons i got the band... i said if i could feel like i was pregnant with that ball pushing into my stomach, i would be able to loose weight..... best wishes... Ro i ate frequent, but small meals...
  14. this is the first i'm hearing about the monday weigh in.... some info please...... congrats about all the weight loss, and about seeing a one infront of the rest of the numbers on the scale..... yeeeeeeeah..... Ro
  15. hey mom..... i don't know about you, but, i don't think anyone is a perfect bandster... it didn't take 3 months to put the weght on,,,, it takes time to retrain your mind, and your body...i had a fill done about 6 weeks into it, it made a huge difference.... i'm actually considering anotherone...but i want to make sure it's the right thing... i can eat more that 2 ounces..... but i don't have the hunger pains i use to before the filll... the hard part for me is not to eat between meals and late night snacking, even though i'm not hungry.... like i said, it's a lot of retraining the mind..... best wishes.... you're doing great... don't give up...
  16. thank you all i have been on a little bit of an attitude down... i've been eating some things i shouldn't,,,, kids halloween candy etc. but,,,,,, i had to go to a funeral and wake... in the evening... we were on the run, i was only able to eat 3/4 of a hamburger (small one $.99) the next day at the repass i ate a whole plate of food...including salad, chicken macaroni, that's why i'm questioning another fill.... but again,,, i'm having problems with throwing up lately, and i don't want to make if worse with another fill.... but sometimes i feel i can eat alot...and don't have that really full feeling for long. please give me some thoughts... thanks
  17. well, i'm now amazed at all the topic discussed by this group...heheheheh.... when i first had my band done.... the burping was unreal, but sinced my fill not anymore.... but,,,, i'll be sitting there and have little squeeks of air come up... very strange sounding. little bubble tracks....
  18. theresa... is there a doctor that can do the fill a little closer to where you live???? i thought what a pain when i had my fill done,, why do they have to do it with the fluro machine... however, my md said, we can custom size it when we see it. at first he inflated it fully, then watched it when it emptied.. he then new how much to fill.... 2cc the first time... if they didn't do it with the machine, i may have only gotten 1cc, then had to go back... best wishes
  19. call your local university, or teaching hospital... then call the radiology center.... then probably could give you a name of the md's that do the procedure... and are good... they are probably limited to what they can tell you, but tell them your situation....hope it helped
  20. keep up with as healthy a diet as you can.... the hair may come back... sometimes when your body is shocked.(large weight loss).. you can have permanent hair loss. but hopefully not in your situation..it's better to feed your hair from the inside than the outside... try Vitamins for hair loss (biotin) good diet, and make sure you are getting enough Protein...... shoprite sells natures bounty for hair, nails and skin, pink bottle.. not to expensive... also,,, i heard our hormones are stored in fatty tissue.... when we loose fat, we can temporarily put our hormones in an imbalance... this will equal out....
  21. no i was at one of the first meetings they had a abkins office.... probably june... i'll try to get the the novermber one, and say hello
  22. hope to ease some of the tension... i had my band only 7-8 weeks when they gave me a fill, be cause, i felt very little difference with the band than without it... what a difference with the fill.... i'll ask my question again... what would you all do...... my fill was 2cc.... my weight loss is not that great 37lbs. since march... i'm wondering if i need another fill... but i don't want to throw up on a regular basis....
  23. when i had my fill, they told me liquids for that day.....reg diet as tolerated
  24. roro33 replied to LisaMG's topic in The Lounge
big nsv for me..... went shopping and bought size 18 jeans.... not pants... yahooooo haven't been there in a long time...
  25. great answer leatha,,, i think too, we have a certain amount of fatty tissue around stomach,,, when we loose fat, we loose it everywhere....it may be lost near band sight....
