  6. Jumped on the scale today and weighed 199 pounds. Target weighed achieved. 120+#'s since surgery and 155#s in a year. No Regrets HERE! I feel SO ALIVE.....Going to Work for my tribal Elders today traditionally harvesting some cedar bark in the mountains today. Exercise before leisure and fun work today.
  7. Dumb Bells, hiking and eliptical.
  8. 205lb 5 pounds away from goal weight might got for more? \m/ Last year at this time was 360+ lbs

  10. 210 lbs =145lbs less 6.5 months. sleeve and work equates to a different person. My Aunt did not see me, wow!
  11. It is hard to believe a year ago I wieghed in excess of 355lb at 215 today. Packed in some 25lb dumbells I bought and it nearing six of those to equal the weight I've lost, and two of them felt heavy to me. Today is truly a new and great day looking forward to the future.
  12. Made it thru the holdays April 355 lb 3 months prior surgery down to 225 lb's today. 10+ inches less in the mid/waist.Hair loss has slowed, almost stopped. Finding that certain things still are not on the menu , but that is all good. Still got a few pounds to go! Looking forward to trying some winter hiking. 20 pounds lost since 11-20-12.
  13. Yes I as I become accustomed to foods with this new digestive system, holidays do concern me. It is not that I want to eat until i need to loosen my belt, it is more with the socializtion and the role food plays with the holiday celebrations. I have not made public announcements of my procedure, but people do know, yet it is still difficult for me to eat the small portions and answer the questions that are associated to my wieght loss. I remain conscious of what I take in and my activity level. 75lb lost since July 24, 2012. 110 since April when I first looked into WLS. The change has been Life Saving with out questions, it is just the questions of others that seem to bother me. Self conscious over weight loss. So wierd, Right? Should be jumping up and down since I am literally able to too now! 355 lb down to 245 lb's today. I need to come up with a quick answer about my wieght loss with out the drawn out conversation and still feel that I have been completely honest. "Keeping on for the new you" only works if I stay on the well road by maintaining a healthy diet. The saying "it only works if you work it" comes to mind.
  14. February 355# decided to check into VS. May 18 was 345# at first appointment, 312# operation day July 24th. Today 262lb. 83 lb since first visit, with 50 lb shed after surgery 79 days ago. Target was 200, not sure I can achieve that wieght, I might be more comfortable 210 220> ???? we will see see Dr. again this week, will ask what they think I should be targeting.
  15. 60 lbs just under 4 months pre and post op. Was inching nearer to becoming a blood sugar checker. The largest amount I had ever weighed. My sons playing baseball and I was afraid to go on the field, my grandaughter wanted me to chase her and I could not because of embarassment and mobility issues. Some of my family members had Bariatric surgery and were happy with the results. I was scared of the potential complication and the life change, but the life I had was not a life I wanted, so started asking questions. Talked with my Primary DR. on April 26. Wieghed 348#s. Talked with him about high sugars, herniated disk, and weight. Told me I was a good candidate. May 8 met with DR Shrikanth at a seminar. Considered my quality of life and the fact that I had lost out mother to secondary effects of her weight 10 years earlier at age 58, 13 years older than I was and decided to try it. Did all my testing through June all the doctor looked at me like I was an alien becuase I was perfectly healthy and actually quite fit. I could walk up mountains for hours with extra 100lbs of weight, over my 350 lb. Every time they took my pressure, read my labs, I'd guess overweight automatically make you a heath wreck? but was certainly on my way to being one..July 5th final review with DR. and wieghed 328lbs. Scheduled surgery for 7-24-12. Ate my last solid food 7-14-12 wieghed 322. Checkinto the hosital the 24th wieghed 312.2 week follow up weighed 300. Sore but felt good the entire time got cold real easy but feelin fine the whole time. Today I wiegh 290 lbs 65 lbs since started and 22 lb since surgery. Starting to really miss food. But sticking to it, my Dr. does not want solid foods til after 7 weeks, so got a way to go. Have not been below 220 since I was in my 20s, was pretty fit then so maybe 90 more would be about my target. Tired of Soup and suger free popcycles....but feeling fine. Oh yeah Started a new job 6 day after surgery and hacked it so far. Planning on backpack and camping 4 miles into lost lake next weekend, first time since i was 25 too.
  16. My doctor don't allow solids till after two months. It is clear liquids till after four weeks then puree for another few. my diet says if my stomache does not accpt the change to continue with liquids for another week? all doctors different but did say call if any vomiting occured.
