  1. Isopure? More like Isopuke!! I'm trying to find something with a lot of protein (can't beat 40 grams) in a bottle where I also get 20 oz of fluid at only 160 calories. If I didn't have such a tiny stomach, I'd just chug it down fast. But I have to sip, sip, sip, and gag, gag, gag. Those protein shots are worse. Guess it's back to the shakes. Let me know if you found something tasty out there!
  2. Some of the Nectar flavors taste like a crystal lite drink, but I think the Health Wise drinks do more. The berry is my favorite but they're pricey. I'm going to try those Isopure drinks soon...
  3. I was sleeved 7/31 and I've been at the same weight for 3 days now. I guess I expected it but it's still a little disappointing when I'm doing everything right!
  4. I told my husband to go out and eat dinner. My surgeon called him when I was out and he came back for a little bit to hang out but I pretty much slept that whole night. He fell asleep on the couch and I made him go home. He couldn't be there the next day but I was totally fine by myself. My mother in law actually came to pick me up and take me home. Everything was fine... I brought the iPad but didn't even take it out. The time went by super fast.
  5. Aww that makes me feel good! So my $17,500 wasn't wasted? Lol I'm starting his support group tonight. I'm lucky I live close to him. I know a lot of his patients fly out to see him.
  6. I didnt have a catheter. I had to stop birth control pills the week before so I figured it would come during surgery. It did, but it was very light. I wore their net underwear (the nurse said they were their Victoria's Secret underwear...lol) and that big ol pad. It wasn't an issue at all.
  7. I'm a high school counselor and going back next week! I'm 2 weeks out and I have a hair appt this Friday! I didn't even think about...I need a touch-up. You nervous about your new eating habits at work? I've decided not to tell anyone there just yet...
  8. I stopped drinking caffeine pre-op and I think my headaches finally starting going away around day 4. I could only take Tylenol too. Now 2 weeks out and don't need caffeine at all.
  9. If you're just drinking fluids right now, I'm not sure if you get the same sensation as when you're eating food. I carry around my Water and shakes and seem to drink quite a bit (not at once of course). I had 1/4 cup of cottage cheese today (yay...first soft food!) and couldn't finish it. I started to feel full so I stopped and ate the rest about 30 min later. I was really trying to assess how I was feeling so I didn't overeat. It was the weirdest thing...you'll know when you're full. I'm 2 weeks out. I was so excited to not be able to finish 1/4 cup! Crazy!
  10. I am in complete shock that I'm surviving (and doing well) at 400 calories a day. The loss of hunger is freakin awesome! But if my husband brings home a burger (bastatd), I still kinda want a bite. Lol I'll save that experience for when I'm allowed solids...
  11. I have their credit card and looks like I'll be canceling it soon! In 14s now.
  12. It's not so much about the calories...it's getting enough protein and fluid. Try getting 70-90 grams of protein with just food (and a tiny stomach)...pretty much impossible without protein drinks. At least in the beginning. I am content with having at least one protein drink in a day for the rest of my life. But introducing food back into my diet is definitely fun!
  13. Have you heard of Health Wise drinks? They have yummy hot chocolates that have 15 g protein. I would have one every morning (maybe with a little instant coffee), but they're a little pricey. I also like their protein drinks...they taste like crystal lite way more than a protein shake. But the soups were gross.
  14. Do you attend his support groups? I think I'm going to start Wednesday.
  15. I know. The nectar protein powders are about 100 calories for 23 g protein and my surgeon's office sells Health Wise drinks, which are 70 calories and 15 g protein. I'm having a double one right now to get the rest of my protein and Fluid in for the day. Tastes like a crystal lite drink. Right now I'm pretty much drinking 3 Protein shakes a day and Water...with an occasional bite of creamy Soup or pudding or a fudgsicle. Not too exciting but I get to eat a little more on Tuesday!
  16. I'm excited for you! I would've gone through kaiser but they wouldn't cover the surgery. Although I'll be paying for it for 5 years, I'm pretty sure it'll all be worth it.
