Ahh, I love our exercise guru Stef! Lol. KT - I DO remember you, and everytime I see the VERY FIRST post on this thread! You were the starter of our group!! So, you've lost 42 pounds... and have 20 pounds left. Thats NOT bad!!! You are 2/3 to your goal!! I'm less than halfway to my goal. Sure... I've lost 100 pounds... but that doesn't mean a whole lot. THe more you have to lose the faster it comes off, initially. Once you get closer to goal your body naturally slows down. You have to fight harder to get it off, because it is our bodys' natural response to try to hold on to the stored fat for times of famine... which isn't likely to occur anytime soon with a McD's and Buffets on every stinkin corner!! I can't tell you what to do... but I can tell you what I do... I don't ever drink soda (or pop, cola, coke.. whatever you call it.) I never eat fast food - no food from a drive through window or such, only sit down resurants with waiters are allowed. I drink 64oz water, minimum... and otherwise only drink low calorie beverages with less than 50 calories per 8oz serving. (exception: I will drink OJ from time to time, but I do dilute it with water first.) I'm NOT good lately with food or exercise... which MIGHT have something to do with the slow scale. But when I was losing weight at a steady pace I was counting calories, eating 1000 - 1500 a day (adjusted to amount of calories burned during physical activity. So a lazy day would only get me 1000 cals, and walking 3-5 miles or spending more than an hour in the gym would get me 1500 cals.) I'm BAD BAD BAD with sweets. I could SERIOUSLY live on sweets alone. Ice cream, cookies, chocolate!! Lol. On March 17... or around there, I banned ICE CREAM until my birthday with is May 12. And ya know what? Not eating ice cream every day has made my scale start moving a bit! Still need to work on the cookies and chocolate addiction... one thing at a time though. My point is... you KNOW where your weak spots are. Just put an end to them! If I still ate ice cream and McD or Taco Bell everyday, I'd have not lost very much at all. And you might have your doc do a barium swollow. If you are at 9cc in a 10cc band and are still able to eat "loads" then there is a chance that you've stretched your pouch. Hang in there. Move more, eat less. Change your mind, change your life. It really does work!!

Wow B!!!! I sometimes get the vagal response when I get really stuck - feel like I'm going to black out and whatnot... never happened though, thank God! But I kinda know what it's like. How much fill do you have in your band? DId they unfill you at all when you got to the hospital? How freaked out were the people at your class? (Lol) I'm so sorry you havo go through this! What are your most recent cardiac enzymes? (I heart medical speak...) Glad your mom is a nurse and will be there with you. Keep us updated!

JIMMY BUFFET!!! Lol. That sounds like fun!!! I got up this morning at 6am and drove into the city to do the AIDS walk. 5K. I never expected so many people!! There were HUNDREDS. It was so cool. I figured that with that many people walking that we'd go really slow and take forever to finish all 3 miles... but even with the kids ans strollers there, we finished in an hour, so about 20 minutes per mile. That's not too bad! By the end of it my right hip was achy... but I made it. After I signed in, I walked around to the sponser tents and got myself signed up for the AIDS bicycling challenge. It's not until Oct, so I'm absolutely positive that I'll be able to do at least the minimum 10 miles. Lol. ANd the guys at the tent said that starting in July or Aug they will start scheduling a few training rides, so it should be fun. I'm excited!! Lol. I've never done an organized walk before, so this was a cool experience for me. Now I'm looking for the next one I can do. Lol. There is a Heart walk on May 31, but I'll be out of town...

If you gag to get it up then it's a PB. Your stomach still sees it as vomiting, and it's hard on your band. Try to avoid it!! Lol.
-
June 2007 Bandsters
Wombat - I'm only concerned about the PBs!! You shouldn't be doing that at all! It's soooo bad for your band! I can count my PBs on my 2 hands... and thats for the entire past 10 1/2 months!! PLEASE be careful.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Rhonda! HUGS!! I SWEAR the only reason I've lost 103 is cause I had over 230 to lose from the start!! Lol, The more you have to lose the faster it comes off... in the BEGINING! Right now I"m barely losing at all. I still have huge addiction to chocolate. I totally don't eat the right stuff, cause I"d be full on 3 bites! So I eat chocolate and cereal bars that I know I can finish... Like, I seriously can't finish a 4oz fiber yogurt... but I can eat an entire bowl of cereal... I can eat a Fiber one bar. I can eat ice cream (but I"m abstaining from it until my birthday in TWO weeks.) And you are so right about the others who don't post! THey've even come on to say that they just aren't losing. I wish they'd come back. We all need support. Not ONE of us has had an 'easy' time. We all struggle with our own demons and are fighting tooth and nail to get thin and healthy. Hang in there. Keep reading and posting.

Trikke USA - drive your fitness machine Anyone ever hear of or see these before? I saw one on the before & after pics thread and googled it. It looks cool! I think we should all get one!! And... have you see this: Sturm Foods A co-worker had some of the fiber infusion vita splash yesterday and I bought some tonight. It's good! Always need to get in extra fiber AND water, so this will work. Oh, and it's cool, windy, and going to rain here any minute (it seems) so I'm not riding my bike today. I am doing the 5K AIDS walk on Saturday though. (BG - Flat Stanley will do the AIDS walk too!) STEFANIE!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY my darling weight lifting nazi friend!! I love you!!

Stefanie Bathany. Thats a twister!! Yeah, when I was thinking of names for my bike that was all that kept popping in my head. I usually just go with gut instinct... ie: I have cats named Princess Jezzebelle Sunshine and Sir Toadeous. Thank God I don't have kids!! Poor things would have horrible names!! Welcome back D!!!!!! My work had a huge ole pot luck for "Administrative Professionals Week" and there was more food than there were people!! I didn't eat ANY of it... until about 2:30 when I went in the breakroom to pee and grabbed about 7 potato chips. I was really proud of myself. They even had ICE CREAM! BTW, BG - I got Flat Stanley yesterday. He went to work with me today for 'Take your kids to work day'... he got his picture taken by the sign in the front entrance to the hospital. Lol. All the nurses loved him. I'm going to take him back tomorrow to see if I can get a pic of him with one of our Volunteer VFW guys. I can't take pics of patients, or else I'd do that. Lol. And I have big plans for him this weekend too!!

cc=ml. They are the same thing I have (I think?) 8 or 8.5cc in a 10cc band. I'm pretty dang tight! Today I had: BREAKFAST: 2 oz OJ SNACK: FiberOne bar LUNCH: BeneFit yogurt (3oz of the 4oz container) SNACK: approx 7 Lays potato chips. (they were in the breakroom at work!!) DINNER: I haven't eaten yet, but am thinking about having either a hard boiked egg, or a protein shake... NO ONE can yell at me. Lol. I know I"m not getting protein in on a regular basis. I struggle with getting enough fiber. I wishthey made a fiber/protein bar!!! Ahh that would be heaven!!

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
If I decide to go I'll probably drive up... me with Bethany Sue hitched to the back of the car. Haha. I haven't looked up the drive info, but if i can handle driving to Houston 800+ miles every year, I think I can drive to the Detroit area. I'd really love to meet ya'll... so we'll see what I can pull off. Money will be the biggest thing for me, cause I'm poverty level... and I am in Arkansas with family the weekend before this event... Yeah. We'll see. I think today is supposed to be nice. I have these new bike capris with padded ass that I want to try out. So we'll see if I make that happen. Man, I'm gonna be late for work again.

Thanks HP. I'd totally love to do it. Gosh. I have such little faith in myself. It's been a rough few days. Weather here sucks arse. Been raining and hailing and such for days. We'll have a good day... but I'm always busy and *can't* ride. I need to get my booty on that bike and make it a priority. I know that once I have a few good successful rides that I'll be even more hooked. RIght now I think I"m just at the point where the idea is better than the doing part. Lol. Thinking about riding doesn't hurt my butt.. or my pride! OK, next dry, non-freezing day I will get on that bike and make it count... even if it's only a mile. What is the date of the ride ya'll are thinking about?

Yay for new babies Janine!!! Lol. My mom because a Grandma when she was 38. Maybe she was 39. I don't remember... Lol. Went out to eat at Sweet Tomatoes with a friend tonight. I love going to eat with her. She is my super thin friend and she has been nothing but supportive of me from the begining. She is the only friend that I have who knows about my band, and will still go out and eat with me. Seriously. Maybe a few others will go out with me, but they hate watching me eat tiny portions, and tiny bites and chewing. Honestly, I hate watching them scarf down huge bites of things I could never dare to eat. Lol. Oh well. ANYWAY... so we went out and I seriously paid $10 to eat like 6 peas, a few peices of shredded cheese, 1 crouton, 1 small broccoli head, 2 sips of broccoli and cheese soup, and a few sunflower seeds!!! Thats insanity. We laughed really hard about it and she said that she was going back for 'thirds' to finish eating our moneys worth. Haha. We had a good time. Missy - I know what you mean about the scale... this morning I was back at 280.1. yesterday morning I was at 279.1. But (here's nasty TMI talk) I realized I hadn't had a bowel movement in like 3 days. So I doubled up on the fiber today, which just made me gassy. I really felt like I SHOULD go tonight, so I did a suppository! Haha. I was desperate! I feel about 5 pounds lighter now. Yay me!
