  1. @ Liz & others: Jeez we have some toxic friends huh!? My other half is a hot piece of tail, lol, but if he let someone talk that way about me (he'd never dare!!!) I'd dump his ass after I broke his legs and her face!!!! Like trot McClure says: let's get confident, stupid Mwahaha And Liz, kick that azzes
  2. Congrats kelliv, fingers/toes crossed for speedy recovery
  3. @ deb_fox, Saw a recent Aussie wife swap where mum and dad HATED fat people... This woman wasn't even really big but their little daughter said something awful and the dad LAUGHED!!! We all know Kids don't really mean to be mean but parents need to check that sh*t!!! Also so sorry to hear your loss at young age! My family = not best support in world but to lose them would break my heart... I know for sure they live on around you, in your memories of their unique souls, and wish you well on your journey! As we all do!!!
  4. So awful lawdiva!!! I hate that look of disgust some people get towards me for my weight! More than my weight, I get offended if people think I'm stupid in class, just because I'm on a diff wave length to them or something. BUT, that look of "ewwwww gross flubber" just makes my blood boil!!!
  5. Thinking of you today KelliV *jealous!!!!*
  6. I was on a diet, ate "too much" lasagne one night, got really depressed and said "ugh I just feel like throwing it up!" Friend says: "sometimes you just have to do that" Un-friggin- believable!!! To a normal fat person = abhorrent To previously anorexic fat person = life threatening (lol I almost killed her)
  7. I am cookeeeeez coz the funniest (or only one I didn't cry over) time a bunch of kids in car drive past screaming "COOKIE MONSTER".... I was like, hmmmmm I doooo like cookies!!!! Lol But I'd like the occasional wolf whistle one day
  8. Sit cross legged on furniture, especially mattresses, without leaving indents!!! Or have other people hold their breath watching me mount their precious furniture!!!
  9. I guess I only say skinny ppl coz rarely do I find myself judging or being judged by other big people... Some people who are compassionate in all other areas just don't understand how HARD this is!!! My partners family are prime examples... One is lawyer for aboriginal rights and still thinks wls is the "easy way out"!! He is very fit and never personally affected by weight issues before his brother met me.... Also I have met therapists, THERAPISTS, who have just NOT understood how psychologically traumatising it is to yo-yo over and over again with my weight! I had kids run over me with their bikes and poke me with sticks when I was little because they couldn't see me for me... They were all slim... I don't hate thin ppl at all, I've been 80 pounds and 300 pounds but being 300 pounds is probably the only reason why I can understand others who are overweight... If I had stayed a healthy 110 pounds my whole life maybe I wouldn't have the insight I do....
  10. Lol just realised I compared myself to a dog!!!! Wish I enjoyed fetching, it seems like great cardio!!!! Mwahaha
  11. What about that alovera water?! I don't know much but is it ok like that?! I'll check next time I'm in the store
  12. Sorry kelliv, hope I didn't sound ott just would hate anyone having unnecessary risks I hope the surgery goes soooooo well for you and I'll see you back here v. soon!!! I will def. want your good advice when I get sleeved!!!!
  13. Lol @ gust avo!!! As a kid my best friend was so skinny, but I felt so bad for her, literally her only lunch was a green apple-she used to come over my place for dinner!!! now she's still rake/model thin but is addicted to McDonald's!!! Eats it once a day but that's all she eats!!! I'm just more about the psychology behind helping people relate to being overweight- shallow Hal was a nice movie like that, you know!? My mum describes it a bit like alcoholism, and I'm a smoker so I agree with 5doxiemom in that respect But it's seen in a different light by most people than alcoholics or drug addicts in that being fat is very visible and everyone thinks they have the right to comment on us... But how would they feel if we really could show them?!
  14. Hi all, Serious note: check with your surgeon! I stress surgeon!!!! before eating or drinking ANYTHING day of surgery! As mentioned above you have pipes and tubes going in and out of your stomach and throat during this surgery! If you vomit (always a possibility!) it is best there is absolutely nothing in your stomach to choke on (and aspirate, causing pneumonia) or damage the integrity of the staple line! This may jeopardise your surgery and life!!! When I had laparoscopic for gallbladder (less serious than sleeve) my surgeon said absolutely nothing from midnight! And my surgery was in the afternoon! If you are diabetic this may change, but ultimately your life is in the surgeon and anesthetists hands and you should quadruple check what they are comfortable with! Sorry for the dark note but in emergency vet situations I have seen animals die from pneumonia caused by aspiration during emergency surgeries... Don't risk it!
  15. I must admit I was a bit of an argumentative know it all about my sisters breast implants, I don't really understand how small breasts can be classified under Medicare as a "deformity"... But I hope she knows I still live her and know its done I just help her through good times and bad, some people are jealous, others perve, others simply don't seem to care (which surprised me) but overall she still keeps it on the down low... Although how you keep a A-DD transformation discreet I'll never know!!! Lol!!!
  16. I also have a supportive backpack filled with weights, when I am in a slump I wear it all week (sun-up to sun-down) to remind myself how heavy I have been, how much I have lost!) and how good I feel without that extra weight!!! Sometimes I can't make the backpack heavy enough or it would break! P.s it also does make exercise harder and you do burn more cals too! I got the idea from Caesar Milan when I got a backpack for my kelpie and filled it with rice so his exercise was more intense!!!
  17. God I miss wearing my high heels too!!!! I actually snapped one of my stilleto heels!!!
  18. I must admit I am torn between the sociological "reality" that women's bodies (more so than men's) are "public", on display and open to comment and criticism, ( & therefore we have a "duty" to change perceptions for the better) and the ideal that what we do is our own private choice and stuff what everyone else may think... Has anyone changed a negative persons mind by telling them your experience?! Do you feel deep down its your own choice to share or not, or do you think you only keep it secret because of others perceptions, that they invalidate your success by "blaming" it on the surgery? P.s I'm a future sleever, I know it's our success, I'm just really curious and playing devils advocate a bit! I am truly a feminist and to see where I'm coming from read "fat is a Feminist issue" by Susie Orbach
  19. Ma46 and others: Your in my thoughts! Safe travels!!!!
  20. Make skinny people understand, how?! Some ideas from other thread; Put them in fat suit, Make them run in fat suit, Make them clothes shop in fat suit, Comment on everything they eat, all the time!!! And so on! EVIL ideas welcome
  21. Lol- and watch everything they eat, commenting at intervals"is that really a good choice for you!?" Mwahaha *evil laugh*
  22. Mrscastillo: Let's put them all in a giant fat suit and see how fast they can run!!!!
  23. P.s the ice cubes were frozen water runoff from family steamed veggies... Strangely addictive...... Lol
  24. It's ok!!! I've been there and back a few times!!! Imagine if you were sucking on ice cubes for 8 days and exercising 5 hours a day, not sleeping and losing all your hair and nails!!! I nearly died but the scales still didn't move!!! It happens and feels awful and I can imagine if you've had surgery and speant $$$$$$$ to boot how you must feel Here to help ok?!!!
