  1. I came home from the hospital on Tuesday. I'm supposed to be aiming for 64 oz liquid and 60 grams protein. I haven't made it yet. Wednesday I figure it was about 20 oz all together (sf jello cup, sf popsicle, water & ice). I also tried some clear broth and could not stomach it. Thursday I think I made it to 30 oz all together - same as Wed. and my daughter (who works at Chick Fil A) brought home some broth from their chicken soup. Amazing! I finished 4 oz of that pretty quick and it tasted wonderful. Today I was supposed to start adding protein drinks (Proti) to the mix. I am working on my second one for the day so 30 gr of protein for the day! Love my daughter, she brought me more soup from work and I have had 2 bowls ( 4oz each). So I should be at about 45 oz for the day. Hope this helps give you an idea.
  2. I had surgery at 8 on Monday and came home on Tuesday at 5:00. Trying to get my fluids in today and walk. Hope everyone else is doing fine.
  3. Congratulations and Good Luck to all. I go into the hospital at 11:00 on Monday in Tampa. 2 days to go!

  5. They are doing the test as an outpatient. I finally got out of the hospital at 3:00 today and need to report at 8:30 tomorrow for the rest of the test and pre-admit paperwork. Glad to hear you were cleared for surgery. I am still in limbo but thinking positively.
  6. My surgery is on Monday. I have been busy telling everyone. I am a teacher and off for the summer, but the staff that I have visited with this summer have been nothing but positive. I am usually a very independent person at work and don't ask for help. I start work 2 weeks after surgery and decided that I needed to have people ready to help me with lifting etc. Everyone has told me that it was wonderful that I was doing this for myself. I know the difference this time is that I am ready for this and I am proud that I am taking this step for my health.
  7. So today I get to the cardiologist's office for the stress test. I'm too heavy for their equipment. So they sent me to the hospital for the test there. Turns out at the hospital they do it as a 2 day procedure. Walked on the treadmill today and took pictures today. Tomorrow I go back for the resting pictures. I get to do my pre-admit paperwork while I'm there. They were all very kind and reassuring that this shouldn't delay my surgery on Monday.
  8. Good luck! My surgery is also scheduled for July 30 and today my PCP told me that my EKG showed some damage to the heart. I have more testing on Wednesday. Hopefully it is a false positive for the damage and it won't cause me any problems with my surgery date. I hope everything goes well for you.
