Dini, we didn't mean to steal your heart, but since we did, we're not giving it back. You'll be a Lucky 7 FOREVER. I have to go look at your pics in a little bit. Welcome Quinn and any other newbies. I tried to keep up but there was 2 more pages since I posted last night. How great is that. FYI, I probably won't be on much the next 3 days. Lots going on. I'm captain for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life walk in my county. It's tomorrow from 7pm to 7am Saturday morning. Then I have inventory at work on Sunday and Monday. Busy, Busy, Busy. Just didn't want you to think I fell in somewhere. So have a great weekend all. Dini, I'll definitely make it on to give you my best wishes on surgery for Tuesday so don't worry about that. Wouldn't miss it for the world.:)

GoodNight all. 4:30 am will be here before I know it so I'm heading to bed. Breadlady, if you ever get caught up on reading the new posts since you've been gone, let us know how it was. As you can tell we're all dying to hear how your doing, and what it was like. Lots of prayers were headed your way fom this group alone. I think that is what's going to make it even more special for mewhen it's my time to go for surgery. We do have a great support group here. Thanks to all of you for just being here, everyday, to talk, listen, and learn.

Laurend, this is a great idea. I was thinking in August we should start posting our excercise goals for the week, and what we accomplished just to keep us motivated. I know my Dr. said I had to wait 4 weeks to do anything other than walking, like weights or aerobic DVD's. Maybe posting will keep us into it.

OK, people, I going to start taking that ginkoba (sp) stuff that helps with memory loss, because I have been very forgetfull lately, a lot at work too. Really, it's true, just a lot on my mind I think. That or age is catching up to me. I know the gray hairs have tripled in the last year. Dini, I haven't been sleeping well due to the sinus infection I have. I've used nasal spray to the point where it was making it worse. So I had to stop, thus, having to air passage through the nose for more than a dayI normally get 7 1/2 hours on average a night, but the past few nights I only got 2 to 3, interupted hours of sleep. And the sleep apnea doesn't help Sunshine, I can actually breath today. I have not got the perscription filled for the z-pak yet. He said to give it a day or two and see if it clears up on it's own. I may get it filled anyway and take it just to make sure it won't come back because I started all of this 2 1/2 weeks ago, it got better for a few days, and then came back, so i think I'm in that reoccuring stage now. Don't want it to rear it heads again next week. It's getting too close to surgery. He told me had I been scheduled for surgery on Monday he would of canceled me I guess Laurend is going to blame me for forgetting Chimboree on our list. Go ahead, everyone else has been!

WOW, That list is SOOOOOOO long. It really puts the group in perspective doesn't it. Look at all of us. Thanks Laurend, I'm on there.

OMG, ROTFLOL:D. Marci, you are too funny. I can't wait for the post-op slap happy days. Maybe that's what is holding Breadlady up with her posts. Hope she's ok, she's probably feeling good about now!! Welcome to ALL the new Lucky 7's. Please let us know where you are from. We're a great group of soon to be banders, and we're growing so fast. Has anyone noticed that your posts take about 10 to 15 minutes to type out now, because there so many of us to address. I know I'm going to forget more people as we go like I did to Dini (still sorry), so I apologize ahead of time. This is a great group, and I look forward to talking to each and every one of you!!! Dini, I must be rubbing off on some of the others:rolleyes:. I see Sunshine forgot you too, and I saw your post. LOL. Hey, I like your little Irish avatar. How cute. Marci, getting back to a previous post of yours, I'm looking forward to all those things after surgery too. You know, the skin not sagging and sticking to you, the SEX thing:p, yes it will be different, and better. Chimboree, was the person drawing blood new at this? That's awful. I bruise so easily, and hate getting blood drawn. I wonder why the Dr.'s put insured patients thru all those tests, because I'm self pay, and I only had an upper GI, that was it. Sunshine, 20 days?!?!? WOW, That's like forever. I couldn't even get my PCP's office to call me one in yesterday, and you get 20 days worth. You can send a few my way. :heh: Hope Everyone else out there is doing great. Just think, we're all one day closer. And tomorow, we'll be another day closer.:clap2: I'm feeling better today. I actually slept last night for about 4 1/2 hours straight. That's pretty good. I took a nap today with my son, so I got another 2 hours in. Just trying to catch up I guess.:notagree

Phyl, Congrats on the date.:clap2: Now you play the waiting game!!:faint: Jackie, sounds like there's a real good chance you'll know something in the next few days. That's great.:scales: Dini, where are you tonight? When you have a chance you'll have to update our calendar with some new names from this week. Just think, YOU GOT NEXT!!! One more week and you'll be in the BAND. I think my medecine is working against me, because I'm so tired:bored, but I can't sleep because I can't breathe:eek:. This sucks. I need to get rid of this fast. Even the Dr. today told me to try Mucinex, even at this stage, so if anyone ever feels this way and thinking about Mucinex, go ahead and start it. He says it works in all stages. He perscribed Z-pak?? for me to take if my Tylenol Sinus doesn't start working in the next few days. I may go ahead and get it filled tomorrow anyway and start it, unless I try the Mucinex first. I'm going to try to lay down again.:scalesno: Here's saying a prayer for breadlady that all went well today, and she's up walking the halls at the hospital. WE'RE THINKING OF YOU!!

Hello everyone. Wonder how Breadlady is doing??? I remember looking at the clock about 7:30 thinking she's probably under, and getting started. Laurend, what part of Tenessee are you from? I'm in KY, and I know exactly what you mean about snow and ice. I lived in Ohio until I was 28, and when I was in school it had to snow 12 to 18 inches for a snow day. In KY, there are so many old country roads, and hardly any school transportation systems, so if they even call for bad weather, they are closing schools, stores, etc. It's crazy. Marci, I would love to visit your state or Hawaii, I'm just not sure I'll make the plane ride. I can go about 2 hours on a plane, but more than that scares me a little. Don't know why. So I had my history and physical today. Very interesting. They asked a lot of health questions, but he never really did a physical on me. He let me ask all my 20 questions I had for him, and that was it. He is so awesome. I asked if I had to spend the night. He said yes at first, and then after he thought about it, he said that if I felt like a million bucks at 5:00 or 6:00 when he made his rounds and if I was up walking, going to the bathroom ok, etc, he'd think about letting me go home that evening. I told him I was having a really hard time giving the hospital $9600 for this surgery and only $5000 to him. I asked him if I only stayed for part of the day and not the night if I would get any money back. He said good question??? So our plan is to let me go, if and only if I'm ok to go home that day, and he told me I should submitt a leter to the hospital asking for a partial refund. He said he'd support it. He said they get way too much anyway, especially for what they pay him. Isn't that sad. Then I asked about how the appointment today was going to be billed to insurance so I'd know about how much I would have to pay, and he told me he wouldn't submit it to insurance, and he had his office lady REFUND me my $25 co-pay I had paid before I went in today. He's a really great guy that really cares about his patients, and isn't only in it for the money. Makes me feel like I'm in great hands, not to mention he's HOT! Yes, he was actually nominated for this show in our area about the areas own DR. McSteamy's. Yes, he's married, but wow, very nice looking, and very nice. Anyway, he was able to give me a perscription for my sinus pain, but told me to give it another day or two and it will probably clear up. He said it's probably from quitting smoking, and is a viral infection. Just my body's way of getting everything out. It's been a long day. I think I'm headed for a hot shower, and hopefully a little sleep. Hard to breathe, so I'm not sleeping well at all. Hope everyone had a good day.

DIni, I got some new flip flops for my birhtday from my hubby, along with a new bathingsuit coverup. Think he's trying to tell me something. I bet if it was next year, he'd be buying me a bikini and hoping I'd wear it. HA-HA. My mom gave me some money and some beach towels, and I got a gift card to my favorite eatery from my sister and her family. All in all, it was an ok day, just a little bittersweet being that it fell on Father's Day and my father has been gone for 16 years now. It's only the second time it's fell on this special day since his passing. It's still hard to deal with.

CONGRATS BREADLADY!!! Can you tell I an so excited for you. I bet you won't sleep a wink tonight, but it will be well worth it. Thanks for letting us know. I was getting a little worried when I saw you hadn't posted yet today. I saw your name come up on the botton under who was on the thread, so I kept pushing the refresh button, waiting on your post. You're our "FIRST BORN". No wonder it took you so long to post, you typed out the whole song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DINI, I figured you were just giving me a hard time, and I'm glad. I am sorry though. I just skipped over my scribble I had on paper. OK everyone, so let me know what you think. If I have a blender and a smoothie maker, do you think I need a magic bullet?????? We sell them where I work, and I can get one on employee shopping day on Friday, but I don't want to spend the money on one if my other blenders will do. Let me know what you all think.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!! DId I forget you. I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry Dini. Please forgive me. There is so many of us now I have to keep a pad of paper next to the computer and write down names and little things to type to each person. I'm so sorry, I must have skipped over you. It won't happen again, ever. DINI, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!!!!!!!!!! Hope you're having a beautiful day in Ireland. By the way, it's 8:00 pm here, so what time is it there?

WOW, here we GROW again!!!! Welcome jfk and james (Karen). Breadlady, what happened today:confused: Hope it's good news, but I'm more worried about how you're feeling:sick. If everything is a go, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Take care of yourself. If it's not a go, I'll still be thinking of you, and let us know when they could reschedule for you. Get Well Soon. Chimboree, how did your appointment go? I have one with my Dr. tomorrow for a history and physical. Cherrybomb, :omg: a whole new life for you. Best of luck in your whole new journey. Sunshine, glad you had a great vacation:cool:. You'll be taking that 4 lbs off and a lot more, so don't worry about it now. I think I'd pay $15 for a few sessions to see if they helped. Once you join with my Dr., you get unimited sessions with nutritionist and physicologist all in the cost. Snaggletooth, sorry to hear about your waiting game.:faint: Good thing you've been on top of it though. I didn't realize they would give you a date without insurance approval. I'm self pay so I'm not sure how it works. Corrina, good luck with the pre-op diet:hungry:. I'm one that doesn't have any per op diet. I kind of feel like I should, but I have so much going on in the next 2 weeks, I'm glad I don't. Marci, you celebrated yesterday too?? I've had that lazy and tired feeling for too long to count now.:bored I think it because everything is situated now, and all I'm waiting for now is the date. I was getting on the computer, day after day, trying to learn all I could about the surgery, and now I feel comfortable with everything I know, and it's almost like a let down of energy. Now the exhaustion of all that researching is hitting me and I have that lazy tired feeling too. I had my last class tonight.:clap2: I can't believe my date is 2 weeks from today. I hope I'm feeling better by then. I'm going to see my PCP tomorrow (if I can get in) to get something for my sinus problem. Maybe she'll just call me something in and save me a trip.

This is Why I HAVE to Do This!
Wanabthin, I've been in this same boat before. I'm being banded on July 2, and I too have literally stuffed myself so full that the only thing that would make me feel better was to get sick. I don't realize it at the time. There is a mechanism in the brain that they say turns off the hunger after 20 minutes of eating. I have yet to experience this. I think mine is broke!!! This is how the band is going to help me: 1. It's going to slow down my eating- Maybe I'll actually feel this mechanism they talk about kick in finally!! 2. It's going to curb my appetite, so I won't feel hungry- or when it stops doing this, it's time for a fill. 3. It will stop me from overeating before I do- because I definitely don't want slippage to occur. It is different. It's a tool placed inside your body. If you don't follow it's rules, there will be he-- to pay. I worry already about slippage and erosion, and it's not even in me yet. I refuse to go thru all of this to not follow the rules. This is how I'm preparing myself. If you'd like to come and visit, we have a thread going for July 2007 bandsters called Lucky # Sevens under this same forum. We're all getting banded in July, and we have been talking about everything under the sun. Drop in if you feel like it. We can talk more there.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Dini, I received an email about changing something, but I didn't respond. I hoope they keep it just the way we are, at least until we've all been banded. I don't what they are changing, or why, or what is supposed to be for, but I like things just the way we have them. I don't want to go searching elsewhere to find a thread that joins all the other patients getting banded the same month and year that I am. So Happy Birthday to me!! Yes, number 35:omg:. Wow. It just seems like yesterday it was 21. Time flies. Makes me wish I was Purplegirl, young, 16, and having Lapband. She is going to have a great life real soon. I really wish something like this was around when I was 16. Purplegirl, I'm so jealous of you, and we even share a cool color in common. I love PURPLE!!! Breadlady, are you hanging in there. ONLY 2 DAYS!!!! :clap2:Keep taking some deep breaths and remember to post as soon as you feel up to it. We'll all want to hear how everything goes. I'll be saying a prayer for a save surgery, and a fast recovery.

Did everyone see the pic of the new AP band? There is a thread on the first page under this forum that has a picture of it. It's cool. I have my history and physical with my Dr. on Tuesday and I'm going to ask if I'll be getting one. I hope I will. Anyone else know already if they are getting it or the older model?

Dini, I've been feeling a lot better today, and eating everything in sight. I feel like I starved myself yesterday. I think as I was getting sick I even emptied out lunch and Breakfast from yesterday. In a way I could benefit from this awful night I had last night, because I don't see my self going to McDonalds ever again!!! I'm looking forward to you and breadlady going before me. I want to know every last detail, good and bad, and I'm sure that is what everyone else wants to hear too. Don't sugarcoat anything, because I know it's going to be painful for a while, but hey, no guts, no glory, right!!! We'll still be nice, you know we'll be here for you for anything.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
OH my. Did I have the worst case of something last night. I ate a McDonalds hamburger for dinner, and about 20 minutes later, I was so Dizzy I thought I was going to pass out, felt very sick to my stomache, and ended up getting sick for 1 ans 1/2 hours. Think it was food poisning? Mad Cow disease? I have never felt like that. I was in bed at 7:00, and only got up to get sick. Everytime I laid on my back I was dizzy. Anytime I tried to move, I was dizzy. Feel better this morning, and was starving from the lack of having anything in my stomache. What a night. I was scared. Thought I was headed to the hospital at one pioint. Purplegirl, hopefully you'll be able to excercise off the pounds and your skin will shrink with it. Since the weight loss is slower with the band, you may not have to have skin removed. You're young so you have the best chance of this. Wrangler, it seems you're on your way. Glad to hear everything went ok. We're taking my 3 year old fishing today. Should be eventful. I'll check in with you all this afternoon. Have a great weekend, and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all your Spouses, Men in your life, etc.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Chimboree, just about all my riends, family, and co-workers know about the surgery. Everyone thinks it's great and has very supportive, except my mom, but oh well. So I don't think I'll be answering this question a lot, but I would probably tell them. It's only a tool, and we have to do the rest which is real hard work, and I think I would add that in to any response that includes the "I had Lapband surgery". Dini, I too have a little one, well, he's three, and I won't be able to lift him for weeks. This is going to be hard as he loves piggy back rides, and for mommy to pick him up and cuddle. I think he's old enough to understand that mommy won't be able to do these things for a while, but he'll probably forget and try to jump on me. My mother is keeping him the 2nd night after surgery, the first night I'll be home because I have to spend one night at hospital, so I actually won't see him 48 hours or longer. And I think my MIL is going to keep him for me also. So the first couple of days will be covered for me, when I'll really need a lot of sleep and rest. After that I'll just have to wing it. Being he's a little orlder he can pretty much get himself into his car seat, and other than that I really don't have to lift him much.
