Hi Everyone I started my pre-op diet Sunday and I've been having a really hard time with carbs my son had some of those fried popcorn chicken bites and I ate one I just couldn't resist now I feel awful and I feel like I suck at this because Im not great at the label reading all I know is under 30 carbs a day this sucks but I know its going to get better anyone with any advice,recipes etc please let me know thank you !!!

I start my Low Carb High protein diet today !!!! Surgery is getting close and the nervousness is setting in :-/

I can definately relate also ive been overweight since I was about 6 also and even though I have always been the big girl ive always felt beautiful and proud of my figure until after I had my son 2 yrs ago and put on alot more weight and my body shape changed so im struggling now with confidence but at the end of the day I still know I am beautiful inside and out and so are you but I def. know what you mean about picturing your self small because ive been asking my self the same if im gonna look right etc. It is gonna be a journey for all of us but we can do it just stay positive and rock your sleeve and give it 110% percent and im sure you will do great like many others

June 2nd with Dr Aceves Cantttt Wait !!!!

Hi , I am scheduled for June 2nd with Dr Aceves in Mexicali is there anyone else having surgery June 2nd ?

I chose Dr Aceves because of his low complication rate and plus he has a nice hospital and he keeps you in the hospital for 3 days plus his pre-op diet isnt a liquid diet its a low carb high Protein diet also I love his cordinator she is the best and is very patient and helpful he also has a yahoo support group . I was going with Alvarez and had scheduled a date and everything and then I came across Dr Aceves and he has far better reviews then Alvarez I do believe Dr Alvarez is a great surgeon but not for me I basicly chose Dr Aceves because he uses a drain and Dr Alvarez doesnt and im way more comfortable with having a drain as far as a leak goes and overall my first impression of him and his staff and I am someone who gets on these boards every day and does tons of research so I have learned alot. Another thing about Dr Aceves is that he is F.A.C.S accredited and that is pretty awesome plus his hospital is working on JCI accreditation which is who accredits our hospitals over in the US but its your decision just do your research and make sure you are comfortable with your decision and dont price shop because your life is important and only you will know what you want to experience , Goodluck Ps:I havent had my surgery yet im scheduled for June 2nd ..Cant Wait !!!!!!

Hi Everyone, I was just curious if anyone has done the pre-op balloon exercises? Ive seen others talking about blowing up 30 (small) balloons a day everyday before surgery but im just curious of when you started im thinking some started a month prior to surgery and some started 2 weeks before surgery but the purpose is to strenghten the lungs for surgery so there is less complications so I def. plan on doing this im just not sure when I should start so if anyone has done this please let me know , Thank You
