Justine! Good to hear from you! I too am struggling. I am at a standstill, still and have not lost in a couple of weeks. I know I need to start exercising at this point but just can not seem to make time! I'm too busy face booking, lol. Well, just remember why you had the surgery and maybe you can try and find a local group to get motivated with you. I love the slider foods, tortilla chips, crackers, candy, you know the ones. I do say no but I am giving in more and more lately.- I knew it would happen, but I wasn't expecting this! I might be bald soon!
I am 3 months out and I am now starting to shed quite a bit. I have noticed it thinning but I was told by my Dr. it would ease up soon and start to grow back. Just keep getting that protein you will be fine!!- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I have 4. They are fading every day. 3 or 5 would not make a big difference to me though since I just had my gallbladder out last year and have 3 from that!- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Congrats to all the weight loss reported here in spite of the holidays!! I drank way too much on New Years which for me that equals eating too many snacks while buzzed. Then, this morning I weighed in and I have gained 3 pounds. I am pretty dissapointed in myself but I am back to work and focused. Hopefully, this year I will not fail my annual New Years Resolution as I do every other year. Green- You are awesome! Way to go! I am so happy for you. I bet you feel soo good about yourself! NGMA- I think once in a while is ok, otherwise we go crazy for holding out on ourselves. You are doing good just stay focused on our goal! Now if only I can take my advice. LOL RESEARCHING- YAY on size12. I have a whole box of 12's in the garage and I am dying to get into them, I cant yet. I am between a 16-18! Scared- we are kindred spirits. I LOVE Carbs too much Uggghhh. ARTSONG- You are getting there!! So close to Onderland! Rybecca- ME TOOO!!! Brandy- You look beautiful and i got the chills just thinking about tequila! LOL ((shudder)) MANDY- AWESOME!!! Way to work the sleeve. I hear ya on the exercise. HAPPY NEW YEAR AND HELLO TO ANYONE I MISSED!!- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
MOMOFTHING123- You are so funny! It reminds me of the show "Everyone Loves Raymond" where Rays mom is the wicked mother in law from the west. I can just picture it now. 67 Pounds??? You go gurrrrll!!! I am proud of your acomplishement, now STAY AWAY FROM THOSDE DAMN COOKIES! And I will try and stay away from the Sees Candies, ha ha ha.- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
NPM- I still throw up also. It just depends what I eat and how dense it is. I can not eat anything potato because I get extremely sick. I do better on small peices of protein rather than chunks. My sweet tooth is totally back. I can not wait till the holidays are over!! But overall you seem to be doing great! Congrats on the weight loss.- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Merry Christmas ladies! It was VERRYYY hard for me. I ate a few things I wasnt supposed to, I admit. We drove to Arizona from CA and its about an 8 hour drive. Of course all I wanted to do was eat. I managed not to gain any weight but I did not lose either. I have noticed I am able to eat a little more than before also.. I am back on track this morning though. I have 50 pounds to lose so I have to focus!- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Velena- I will definitely consider that! I just dont want to lose track of everyone on this thread! MKNMO- Congrats! 12/14?? So awesome!! MOMto3- OMG you look great! You and I are virtually going at the same pace. I too was a 24 to an 18 and I was soo happy. Keep up the good work. Jenn- I HEAR YOU. I hate to exercise but when I do I feel sooo much better about myself. MGMA- Thank you! You look like a hot mamma too! Wish we all lived by eachother to have a girls night out! lol GREEN- Thank you thank you for all of your support and encouragement, I really value that!- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Hello ladies!! I miss you all! I get soo busy at work and with the holidays I am not even able to pee anymore without feeling it is an inconvenience! So I am down 43 pounds. I too was sad that it was not 60 or more. I really do have to say that it half the surgery and half will power. I mess up, alot, but for the most part I am trying to make healthier choices. I do indulge occasionally especially with Starbucks Chai Tea, but it is once a week only. I am so proud of everyone here whether it be 20 pounds or 60 pounds. We all want the weight loss soooo bad and it is dissapointing when it is not super fast but you all keep trying. I am actually happy it is only a couple of pounds a week otherwise we would have super saggy skin. I told myself that even if this is all I will lose, I will be happy since i could have not lost a pound if it werent for this sleeve. So I want to challenge you all to a new healthier year WITH exercise. Lets keep our momentum going and get into a bathing suit (ok Board Shorts) come Summer. What do you say?? Who's in???- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I hate to be the one to bring it up but OMG. My heart is broken for those families in Connecticut. My prayers go out to them. Now I REALLY cant eat.- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Congrats Rybecca!!- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
NGMA- NOOOO, I said THINKING like that would not help me lose weight. I was craving a full on french toast breakfast after reading your post. Not a healthy one like you had either. LOL.- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
HELP!!!!!!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? One of our subcontractors gave me 2 pounds of Sees Candy. The worst part is that they KNOW I had the surgery. What the HECK? People suck....- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
MKNMORE- I am so sorry you are going through this. I have been with my hubby for 20 years and believe me, we have had our ups and downs. I left him a couple times. All marriages have challenges BUT I was told during our Psych evaluation that the divorce rate is way high for bariatric patients. So is depression. I would not do anything drastic right now. I know at my church, we offer couselling for free and that may be an option. Leaving should be the absolute last resort unless he is abusing you or your children. You need to get to a point where you are happy regardless of him and what he is doing. Men do not know how to communicate at all! I always hear the stories of the women where their husbands are so great. But I am sure they all have bad qualities. Just think of the good things and why you married him and try to go back t o that. Until then, maybe you can get some individual counseling . Like I said maybe at a church or there are other public counseling for free.- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
SUEPEEPS- Yes! Probably the most embarrassing topic. I got them while pregnant and the added weight did not help a bit. Since I have lost 40 pounds, I have not had a probelm at all. Its like they are not even there. Mine are inside which I dont know what is worse. My husband makes fun of me telling me I have "double hemmis under the hood", LOL. NGMA- You are so creative. Everything you eat seems gourmet compared to me. I am drinking a protein shake for breakfast, and now I am wanitng bacon and french toast. Dont know if I willbe able to make my 2 pound a week quota thinking like that.- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Thank you ladies! I think that when the bulk of the weight falls off, you will find the arthritis pain much easier to tolerate. I know it does not go away but it will get easier. I have it in my neck and when I lost weight the last time (70 pounds) I felt much better. Yes, what a drag it is to get old.- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Hi Girls! I am MIA because I have been doing year end here at work. I have been swamped.I have been reading everything, just no time to respond.... I LOVE Pink Panties. Very yummy. I went to the DR yesterday and I am down 40 pounds. I think he said 32% of excess BW?? I am very happy with that. I am definitely on track and he said continue what I am doing but He did say I better start exercising now before I lose my momentum. He said I will definitely stop losing and I will be able to eat more. He said dont worry about the hair loss it will not be THAT bad. Love ya!- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
LET THE HAIR FALLING OUT BEGIN!!! OMG, i noticed it a little here and there at first and then this week a little more. This morning I could not believe how much I pulled out while shampooing/conditioning. I am pretty convinced its from a lack of protein. I am going to up the protein as of today and hope I can reverse some of the damage. Anyone else??- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
NGMA- Awesome women! Glad to hear you are on track. I am so proud of you!- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Delta-- are you on medication at all? What are you drinking? That is SCARY. I would stay away from it if that were the case for me.- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
NGMA- You look AMAZING. I can see your transformation taking place and its crazy! READY- I have tried Wine and Vodka and light cranberry on Thanksgiving. I also had 2 Mai Tais (sp?) a few weeks ago at my friends 35th birthday party. I do not really drink believe it or not unless its a special occassion. I get buzzed easy anyway because I dont drink and with the sleeve and 2 Mai Tais, I was VERY buzzed. MOM- TRY THE COCONUT WATER!! If you have a girlfriend that can bring you some, try it. I would go back to broths and shakes/clear liquids as the other posters have said. I really hope you feel better soon. I will be praying for you!- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Welcome k9qt! Wow, scary but praise the Lord you found your leak! That has been one of my biggest fears. Hope you progress well from here on out!- Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
NEWGM- LOL, guilty. But seriously ithe Coconut water works sooo well. I have had some coctails too with the sleeve and I felt fine. Can NOT do beer but I do ok with wine and vodka. I have only had a couple of drinks since the surgery because I know it is way too many calories for me. I did get a little too buzzed on the Vodka though, It hit fast. I am such a cheap date now. - Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
