I Was sleeved on 4/17 and i just started eating soft foods. My problem is that i have constant pain like right on my esophagus, where u get hunger pains, its awful. If i drink something it hurts till i walk and burp but if i eat its horrible, the food gets stuck there and it takes forever to go down, it feels like im choking. To make matters worse ur not supposed to drink anything so i just have to let the food sit there like 20-30 mins. Anyone has gone through this? Sent from my iPhone using VST

I was sleeved 4/17 and i went through the same thing, it was horrible. I would take a sip of Water and i would have to get up with each sip and walk around the living room for gas to come out, it would be stuck on my esophagus. Now, i can finally say its gotten better THANK GOD! I though it was gonna be a lifetime thing. I still have gas but not nearly as much, its gets better each day. Good luck! I was sleeved with dr stowers also but i had to pay 10,950.00 since i dont have insurance but like claudia said if you have insurance even for your endoscopy they can file it medical and the price goes down. They are a great team of doctors and the hospital staff is great. The hotel they recommend you is very nice, clean and cheap. I flew in on monday 4/16 for my pre op and on 4/17 i was having my surgery, I flew in from nc. They did all paper work by mail and fax and the docs consult was by phone and the psych eval also. As any of you messed up and had something to drink right after eating? What happens when you do that? Ive been told not to do it but i dont know whats the reason for it and if if i will get pain or throw up if i happen to mess up. Ive always been a person that can sleep all night without a problem, ive always love to sleep. Here lately since i had my sleeve a week ago i have not been able to sleep throught the night. I have the worst time trying to sleep and its really getting to me. Im on vacation and i want to take advantage of this and be able to sleep at leat 8 hrs and have a good night sleep but its just impossible. Anyone else loosing sleep after sleeve? There is a forum here called Clothing Exchange. I believe they send each other clothes that are too big for them now, they just keep each other posted and that way they dont spend money buying clothes that are only going to last them a couple of months. Can anyone tell me when do you stop having this painful gas? I'm one week postop and I still have to get up and walk to get rid of the gas even if I swallow a small sip of water.

Am I the only one hungry on this liquid post op diet? I thought u would never feel hungry after surgery. I thought that after surgery u would have to force yourself to get anything in ur stomach. I was very nauseous the first 2 days but now I'm just starving. Could it be that my doctor didn't take out my ghrelin hormone?

My surgery is the 17th. Ive had a rough time with this preop diet. Ive really never been a liquid kinda person so i have cheated on the diet. I went online and i looked into diabetic recipe Soup and thats what ive been doing. Its still hard but i prefer that than the LIQUID alone. I understand that after my surgery im only gonna be on liquids and thats ok because what i hear from others u gotta force urself to drink cause u really dont want anything AT ALL but while my stomach is this big i just cant do it, its horrible. I would let her see this link and she would probably realize its not as drastic as the bypass as theres no re- routing or anything else than just make ur stomach smaller. I had the same problem with my husband and he finally gave in. Not that it was his decision but u want ur significant other to be able to encourage u and be there for u. I satrted showing him lots of videos on youtube and he looked for himself on the internet about complication with the sleeve and found none. When i talked to him at first i told him i was going to Mexico to get it done cause it was cheaper and that time he really hit the roof and went crazy looking for someone within the US to do it for me and even helped me come up with the money. My surgery cost is $11,000 not including plane tickets and car rental and other expenses but his going with me and he'll be there for me.
