  1. Sept 9th too! Seems like an eternity away..
  2. I'm on the surgery schedule for Sept 9th too, I'm not as nervous as I was, I have a dear friend that's been talking me through the process because she was sleeved in February. She's down 70lbs since Feb, that's with no exercise strictly diet change. She's been telling me exactly what to expect, and what I need to intake to stay hydrated and energized. Also informed me of any worse case scenarios like hers, she tested positive for the H-pyloren and was kept in the hospital another night because she couldn't get her liquids down. She gave me her favorite protein drinks to try and premeasured cups for liquids and soft foods. I'm very glad to be out of work for 3 weeks to really invest in healing and closely following doctors orders post op.
  3. Oh man I am so excited, I am officially September 9th in Northern California, coincidentally on my grandmothers birthday, (How appropriate considering she was the one who always commented about my weight as a child! It was always "you have such a pretty face, if only you could lose a few pounds...") I actually have butterflies I am so excited! My surgery coordinator is faxing over my schedule of all my pre op and post op dates, I start my liquid protein diet August 30th.. I am gonna give it all I got! Here goes nothing!!
  4. I don't often feel like one, but I am technically a light weight
  5. Do you think its just nervousness for the surgery? Or is it the realization of everything coming to fruition? Sometimes people cannot comprehend the idea of their life changing in such a vast way, its like what do you do when all your dreams come true? You keep dreaming right? Set new goals, that way you feel like you have something to work towards. Good luck dear I'm sure everything will work out great!
  6. Everyone has really good advice, I am happy to hear all these other options in case I come across the same concerns when my day comes, I especially like the idea of trying different temperatures of liquids, I usually don't like cold liquids anyway, and warmer liquids are often very soothing. Maybe some thing soy related like miso soup broth would have some good protein and have a little different flavor and texture. Good luck mom of 5, I am sure you are just at a small bump in the road, and like everyone said its really early on, don't regret it just yet
  7. That's so exciting, I am still waiting on approval I had the same ins as you but now I am on COBRA, hopefully I will have a quick response too! Congratulations, keep us posted!
  8. I feel EXACTLY the same way, feeling stuck in a rut, always being overweight, but change is good.. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. I dont have a surgery date yet, only a few more hoops to jump but its starting to hit me that my life is going to change. For the better!
