  1. I have been exhusted since starting the liquids too. I can handle the hunger but my diet is under 800 calories which includes 3 protien drinks and two yogurts and jello. Under normal circumstances, I don't think a dr would never prescribe a diet that low in calories. I'm just sucking it up and accepting that I am exhusted and moving on. I hope this improves after surgery.
  2. Melissa: We have the same surgery date! I'm scared too. Not of the pain but of the fact that I might not be successful. I will be so embarrassed and ashamed if, after all of these, I can't lose the weight. I think you are right about the exercise. I have been watching YouTube videos of people that have had the surgery. Many successful ones said that they immediately started to walk after surgery. It helped with the gas from surgery. I'm trying to soak up any useful information that I can find. I've tried and failed so many diets. I am amazed that I have been on a liquid diet for this many days. This just shows that we can do this. We've got this!!! This is a new start for all of us. :-) We need to keep in touch and compare our recovery. We can be Sleeve buddies.
  3. I'm on day 7 of my two week preop liquid diet. It's killing me. I haven't broke but I am so hungry that I exhusted and sick. I understand that the diet is to shrink your liver and teach portion control but this is basically starvation. I've read that other's were instructed to do low carb or low fat diets. A friend of mine only had to do two days of liquid. Why no consistence? This liquid diet makes me long for the Atkins days....
  4. After reading many websites, I realized that I could use a little (or a lot) of support. This site is just what I need. My surgery is scheduled for 9/13. I am on day 7 of a 14 day preop liquid diet. It is very difficult. I completely understand why the diet is needed but if I could stick to liquids only for 14 days, would I really need to have my body operated on? Why can't I use this same will power and lose the weight the traditional way? I know why. I know myself. That might work for a few weeks but I would break. My binges are small ones either. In the last year, I have regained about 60 lbs. that I had lost during dating a man that wanted 'perfection'. When things suddenly dissoved, I gave up. So here I am. I come from a family of thin attractive people. I am the only large person.. Some support my decision, some don't. My brother and sister in law spent a few hours trying to talk me out of it this afternoon. I even started doubting myself. Still, I know that I have to do this for myself. On august 19th, I was 311. I started the liquids at 306.6. One week in, I am at 294.4. If anyone has any advice, please don't hesitate to contact me. ~Kate
