    Hey Guys

Congrats to you on your progress and I hope you get ur surgery soon. I'm in phase 1 of this but I'm also in the Dallas area (Carrollton). I am a pt of Dr. Barker. I am going for the psych consult in 2 weeks. Thanks for the heads up. I also just completed a sleep study last week which was the worst sleep I've had in a long time. I'm hoping to have the surgery in late Nov or early Dec. I to have had the same issue (yo-yo weight loss/gain). I just started working out again 2 weeks ago at LA Fitness. It's hard to get back into the swing of things but hopefully this is the last time. I've also just started the protein shakes. Im trying to get used to them and to see what I like and what I don't. (Pure Protein shakes 35GM protein per can and not bad tasting- I got them at Sprouts $3.79 per can) I'd like to keep in touch and maybe share experiences along the way. All the best.

    Hey Guys

Hi I'm considering having the surgery soon. I would like to know what ur experience has been like so far. What are the things that u think u did well and not so well. What info/experience do u wish u had known about prior to the procedure that u did not know. What have been ur successes and what have been ur failures. What is the biggest difference? I know that's a lot of questions but I would like to hear the good, the bad and the ugly about this process. Thanks so much in advance for considering sharing such a personal experience.

Hi Texas T I hope u r still doing well. I did a consultation with Dr. Barker and it looks like I will be utilizing his services. I still like Dr. Nicholson's practice too but the process seems to be taking so long and Dr. Barker's office is so efficient and the process has already started. I will have all the insurance requirements completed by November and hopefully have the procedure by December. I had so many questions for both physicians and I appreciate that they both took their time and answered them all. I never felt rushed and I appreciate that with both physicians as this is a big step. I've also heard good things about Dr. C. Kennedy but I don't think I will pursue just because of timing but for anyone reading the post u may want to check her out but I did hear that she was very strict. Well all the best to u.

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to all of this. I'm so glad I found this forum. I just heard of the Sleeve procedure yesterday and I've done nothing but research it for the last 24 hours. I have signed up for a Baylor Hospital Information Class next week but would like to know based on your experiences what questions I should ask? Based on your discussions you all seemed to have utilized Dr. Baker (aka Dr. McHottie) and I'll check into that practice as well but just want to know what things you consider important points to have covered. Thanks in advance.

    peer to peer review

I'm still a newbie at all this so I can't speak from experience but wanted to ensure that you were aware that the FDI earlier this year (around Feb) lowered the criteria for the guidelines for lapband to a BMI of 30 with comorbidities. I know that's not the same procedure but I think an argument could be made. The standard for the industry even prior to this decision seems to be BMI of 40 or 35 with comorbidities. I hope all goes well for you.

Hi Guys, Thanks so much for your honesty in your posts. I am still researching but seeing that you all are just a few more weeks out can you provide an update as to whether you are still having regrets, cravings, and head hunger. Wishing u the best but appreciate your honesty.

  9. Hi guys, I'm a newbie to this and still in the researching phase. I must say I'm so happy for you all to be in process and moving towards your goals. It seems this step take a lot of courage and I'm shaking in my knees thinking about the procedure so for those of you who have gone through it already- u r heros. Hang in there PhatGurl80. Thanks for your honesty TrHick2b although I'm not looking forward to possibly being n HELL. Can someone verify for me if the 14 day pre-op diet is an all liquid diet or is it puree as well or something totally different ? Thanks
