  1. I just got the UP band by jawbone. I love it. It does it all and it's a nice stylish band. One friend thought it was a nice leather bracelet. It soon will link up with my fitness pal. I like how it buzzes every 15 minutes I'm idle. Research them all and see what fits your life style. Good luck
  2. Hey everyone. So my pre op diet is no starches and to have lean meats. One day before surgery is all liquids. I'm so lucky with this diet. I thought I would do all liquids. My question is the whole starch thing. What should I avoid when it comes to fruits and veggies? I know I stay away from bread, rice, Pasta etc. I love to eat roasted cauliflower with freshly squeezed lemon juice with crushed garlic. Is that bad? to starchy? Now that I think about it, looks like a liquid diet would have been easier. Not many choices. Thanks.
  3. Thanks! That's a good idea about stopping to walk around. Didn't think of that. Yippee!
  4. Thanks! Congrats on your surgery! It's good to hear from someone 11 days out. Now I'm super excited.
  5. Hey Everyone!! A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine from NJ called and said she was coming to visit and had tickets to Celine Dion in Vegas. She asked if i would go and I said, "heck yeah!!" Friday, my surgeons office called and said my Surgery date is the 22nd!!! I was expecting late March early April, not that im complaining. Ive been waiting almost 2 years to hear those words. After the excitement dwindled down, I thought to myself, "oh dear!" My friend booked the ticket to come out here. Now, I would like your opinion. I live about a 2 hour drive from Vegas. My hubby will be driving and I will be about 2 weeks post-op. I have a master plan about packing a cooler and being super prepared with my food and shakes. My friend is super supportive and so is hubby. I will be in the soft foods stage as well. We will be staying one night. Am I going to be miserable? Is it too soon? Any pointers would help Thanks everyone!

  11. Hi! Hope this helps. I don't know what state you live in but, I live in CA and of insurance keeps denying, you can file a grievance against your health plan through the department of managed health. I think even an attorney will tell you to file a grievance through your insurance provider first. Best of luck to you!! XXX
  12. Still waiting here....... When the day comes, I think I will be so grateful and thankful. It's been a long and emotional road so far. 2 years since I told my doctor I want the sleeve. I know there is much more to come. I was ready yesterday. Good luck to all!!!
  13. Thanks for this! I'm really physically active. 6days cardio and 3-4 strength using my own weight like lunges, squats and push ups. 3 days out of the week I find myself furiously hungry. Those day i seek the white stuff (simple carbs) lol. I might need to stock up on those good carbs. Thanks again!
  14. Thanks everyone! I always thought you could have endless amounts of carbs if the came from fruits and veggies! I'm glad I cleared that up
  15. Yippee! They just open one super close. Didn't even want to drive by it. Now I can't wait to try it. Thanks!
  16. Hi everyone! I'm still pre op. don't have a date yet but hoping in February. My question is about carbs. I know post op we should keep our carbs around 40-50. Does that include the carbs from fruit, veggies and non simple carbs? Or is it 40-50 from whole grains like whole wheat bread and oatmeals? Thanks!
