  1. Two years ago I had a massive bilateral pulmonary embolism due to birth control. I have been taking blood thinners ever since.(warfarin) My biggest fear is that I have another blood clot during/after surgery. Has anyone here had a pulmonary embolism BEFORE they had surgery? Hoping to hear a success story to ease my mind!!
  2. YAY! So glad to hear you are doing well!! Thanks for sharing your story, makes me a little less nervous
  3. I was worried about the pain....but then I think about how much pain I am in everday just living at 450 pounds....a few days of pain is worth it for me to have a life free of this knee, back and emotional pain. I have been letting my fear top me fr years but I'm ready now...I just can't live like this anymore, it's not fair to me and definitely not fair to my children to have a mom who can't play with them, go on field trips, go on rides with them etc. I want to LIVE not just watch life pass me by because I am paralyzed by my fear!
  4. Thanks! I don't really have any axcess to a pool but I hve been walking every morning before it gets too humid. I live in Florida and it's been running in the 90's here. I have been waking for 6 days and eating lots of veggies and some meat. I have cut out sugar and flour. Still getting and error message on my scale
  5. Thanks so much! I am happy to have found this place
  6. Hey I'm Jenny. Wife and mother of 2...been overweight FOREVER. I finally decided to have surgery and had my 1st appointment on 5/5/2011...The doctor suggested VSG though I had originally wanted to have lap band. He told me I would not lose the desired amount of weight with the band and suggested the VSG. I am excited! The doctor has ordered me to lose 30 pounds before he will operate so right now I am working on that. I've already had my EKG, Endoscopy, sleep study and blood work. I have sleep apnea, menorraghia, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and bad pain in my knees and back. I am sure VSG is going to greatly improve my conditions!! Look forward to meeting others who have over 200 to lose....it's going to be a journey but I am READY!! I also started a blog at http://mynewlifevsg.blogspot.com/ check it out for daily updates
  7. Hey I'm Jenny, I am new here. I am currently 451 and my Dr. has ordered I lose 30 pounds before he will operate. Has anyone else had similar experiences with having to lose a certain amount of weight before surgery?
