How on earth do you get enough water in???
- How on earth do you get enough water in???
I am 6 days post off and should have 48-60 oz of water a day. How on earth can I get that in??? I am still on a liquid diet so you'd think it would be easy but it's not.. I do good to get 32 oz in a day. Any suggestions???- Lifting
A step stool is a great idea. I could keep it in the car and take it out for him to get in and out! The changing table would be an issue in the mornings BUT I could change him on the floor with a towel down (that's what I did this morning). Thank you so much!- Lifting
Just thought I'd get some input... my post op instrustions say not to lift over 25lbs for at least 2 weeks after surgery. Well I have a 15 month old and I have to get him in and out of my car. He's 24lbs.. so I'm actually right under the 25 mark.. My question is, does anyone know if I could "tell" if I've lifted to much? He's the only thing I have lifted and my husband does it when he can... but he's not there all the time.- Sipping your drinks
Hi everyone, I was just banded on Thursday, May 10th and so far feel great... I haven't had any pains so the pain medicine is still sitting in the kitchen I do have a question though.. will we always be sipping drinks from now on?? I know this is something they tell us to do after surgery, but does that always continue? Happy Monday everyone!- May 2007 Banders
Hi everyone, I had a pretty good "first" night last night.. I was afraid to roll over to my side but my husband put a pillow behind me and that helped so much. I haven't had any pain meds yet - wait that is not true.. I had some in the recovery room and then before I went to bed I thought I'd take some just in case... we'll that has been 13 hours and so far I do not need anymore. I really feel okay. My post-op diet is liquids as I can tolerate them. I'm on my 2nd oz of protein shake and already feel full... man it will be hard to get the protein in. Good luck to everyone today!- May 2007 Banders
Hi everyone.. Well I had my surgery this morning and it is now 2:45PM Central time and I'm waiting on my Dr to release me. So far I feel great.. Haven't had any pain meds since what they gave me in the recovery room almost 6 hours ago. All of my nurses keep telling me how great I've done and how good I look... I just hope the rest of my healing journey is like this. Thank you for all the support, I'll be checking back in.. Good luck to all of the Friday surgeries... Dr. just came in, saw me on the internet and said "looks like your ready to go" home I'm heading - YIPPEE we get to beat traffic- blue cross blue shield
Hi, I also have BCBS Fed and I did not have to go through anything. My Dr's office said that the only requirements that BCBS Federal has is that your BMI be over 40. Which mine was (is). My request was sent on a Friday, and the office called on the next Wednesday with an approval. I started all of my process at the end of March and my surgery is scheduled for May 10th.- Unjury protein
I just received my samples of unjury Protein. I bought one of each sample they had. Tonight I tried the vanilla... it says to mix it with milk, soy milk, coffee, or any of your favorite beverage. Well since I'm on my pre op diet I decided to mix it with Water - it wasn't great at all. As a matter of fact, it was pretty bad. I've been told that Unjury is pretty good. Does anyone know if I should have mixed it with the milk?? Any advise on protein is helpful. I get banded in just a couple of days and I'm trying to see what I like best.- May 2007 Banders
Paulette, I'm so sorry that happened to you.. hopefully you will get a new surgery date soon! I would be really upset to.. Good luck to you! **on a good note for me, I am on day 4 of my "liquids" diet and have not cheated ONCE, I am so proud of myself**- Vitamina
Just wondering what kind of vitamins everyone is taking?- May 2007 Banders
Our month is here HAPPY MAY EVERYONE Crystal- May 2007 Banders
Well tomorrow is the beginning of our month!! Good luck to all of you 1st week of May banders - Keep us posted Crystal- Protein Drinks...good and bad
Well since I was in a pinch for lunch I researched a little before lunch. I ended up at smoothie King and got a low carb banana smoothie. I hope I didn't mess up to much here. It has 225 calories, 6 fat, 6 carbs and 35 grams of Protein in the 20oz... not bad, so far very good and filling! I know it doesn't have all the Vitamins in it but I'll drink my regular shakes tonight. I'm going to check out unjury.com now - sounds like good products! Crystal- Protein Drinks...good and bad
My Dr's assistant just told me to start drinking three shakes a day to lose a little more weight before my final weigh on Wednesday. My surgeon will not do the surgery unless I've lost 15-20 lbs before hand. I've lost 12 and am STUCK... Now here I am at work needing to go and find a decent premixed shake for lunch - any suggestions? I usually drink Avacare that I mix with Water but of course they are all at home Thanks, Crystal- New - From TX
That is what I will have to start doing... I know that if I put my mind to it I will succeed. (as i am sitting her so hungry right now ) Crystal- New - From TX
Wow, there really is a lot of people from the Dallas/Ft Worth area on here. I'm actually live in Wylie.. I'm starting to get really nervous about becoming banded. Of course all the "bad" things that can happen have been doing nothing but going through my head. It seems like everytime I tell someone that I'm getting the band, this is what I hear.. "that's great, I know so and so who had it done and they weigh more now than before having it done" - I HATE it when people say that to me... I come back with "well I plan to follow my Dr's orders, sounds like they did not". I'm sure as my surgery date gets closer I'll get more nervous but until then I will continue to drink my two shakes a day and eat my one healthy meal. Crystal- New - From TX
I am seeing Dr. Davidson at Presby Dallas... Are you banded?- New - From TX

I just found this site over the weekend and all I can say is I LOVE IT. I think all I've done all weekend is look around and I've learned so many things. I'm from TX, the Dallas area. I'm 32 years old - been married for 10 1/2 years and have one 14 month old baby boy. Our son is the joy of our life. I'm really excited to get to talk to everyone out there...
