  2. Aww guys, thank you so much ~ I know I will be a crying baby tomorrow to - But deep down I know its for the best, its just getting there thats kinda scary ~ I will keep you all posted as I can Keep them prayers coming!
  3. Tomorrow morning is my surgery its at 10:30am and I am now starting to get nervous!!! At least when I get there, wont be long and they will knock me out and the next thing I will know, is waking up in recovery ~ Here's to all the May 9ers out there ***Sending warm wishes, prayers and healing thoughts your way***

Yay Kelly I am so happy for you - I got my call this morning as well - mine will be about 10:30 monday morning - I will be praying for you as long as I can remember to on Monday~ please do the same for me Oh and BTW, I feel the same way, I am not excited, not really nervous, just another nice weekend for me I am sure that will change when I am on my to the hospital Monday morning.

  6. Thats a good idea Kelly - I just got home from my last day of work before surgery - its really getting close now. Got a call that my surgery will be an hour later - so I check in at 8:30 will have surgery at 10:30 - if I am up to it, I will try to log on that night and post something in the forums Good luck all May 9er's My best thoughts and prayers go out to you for a speedy recovery

  8. Once you have done your Pre-Op stuff, you will officially be done - all that will be left is the surgery. Just make sure to have whatever your going to take day of surgery, and you have the stuff you will need when you get home, like the Protein powders for your shakes, and all the liquid stuff you will need. Good luck, being a bundle of nerves is normal, I am there right now, as my surgery is Monday May 9th Keep us posted on how things go.
  9. Hi Joan - first off let me say, you are not nuts, I went through the emotional roller coaster as well - I think its part of the process. This is a life changing thing we are doing. I was told by one of the nurses that we would morn as if we have lost someone. Second, I am getting Sleeved by Dr Nick Nicholson on Monday May 9th! Nice to meet another! ~ good luck with your surgery, keep me informed on how everything goes Happy Friday!!
  10. That test is the Upper GI - they make you drink Barium and it tastes like chalk ewwwww
  11. Get plenty of sleep, think positive thoughts, and just know, if your surgery is suppose to happen on Monday, it will.... Period! HUGS!!!!!

  19. Hi ~ I am using Dr Nick Nicholson at Baylor hospital, I haven't had my surgery yet (its Monday) but he and his office have been there EVERY step of the way and are the nicest people I have encountered in the medical field. Good luck with your decision.

  22. Thanks all - I will have to admit, it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be ~ thank goodness! Kelly, I didnt have to do the upper endoscopy, ewww is all I can say, I hate having stuff shoved down my throat while semi concious - I will be thinking of you when you have your surgery on Monday, I have mine on Monday too!! Lets keep in touch and see each other is doing on the other side!

  25. My surgery is Monday, and my biggest concern is how I will feel after surgery. I had all my pre-op tests done today and was talking to the nurse and was telling her that I have had surgeries in the past and have never had problems with nausea. She looked at me and said, yes, but you havent had a surgery like this in your stomach, this could be different, dont be surprised if your nauseous, and if you get sick the first couple of days. This kinda freaked me out because I hate being that kind of sick, and I am sure it would really suck with having your stomach cut on. So please, all of you that can, what did you feel like right after surgery, please be honest, so I know what to expect and maybe I can prepare myself mentally for it. Thanks so much......
