  1. I am 33 days away from hitting the one year mark from my surgery. It is truly amazing to me how I have gone from someone who is not very active to someone who has a drive to climb hills now. Last year when we started riding, the last thing I ever thought i would do was tackle the huge hills at the lake. But....lol and behold.....I did. I climbed them and was at the top and happy as could be. I am very excited for the new outlook, the new clothes, the confidence I have once again and the way I feel. I feel truly blessed each and every day to be able to get up without pain, and enjoy each an every day to the fullest. My surgery has taught be allot. Although, habits are still hard to break, and at times the old me gets back in my life and I get lazy. But......I am bound and determined to continue to move forward. This time last year I was in a size 30/32 pant and a pair of jeans was unheard of to get on my body. This spring, I am wearing a size 18 jean capri, and some of my pants depending on who makes them are bigger....but for the most part, I feel like woohoooo!!!!! Well, that is all for the day. :w00t:
  2. thanks.....I am not even hurting tonight....wooohoooooo!!!! Now we are looking for a bike for Leslee.
  3. Hello everyone Well, B I am glad you are better tonight and I hope you will be on your way home soon. J....wow!!!! That is a awesome ride you got in. How are you liking your pedals??? I am really liking them lately, and am defiantly noticing why I have them. John and I went out for a quick ride tonight. Of course we live by hills at the lake, but we have a good route that we can have a mix of flats and hills. Some of these hills are something that I swore I had no need to ride, nor desire to ride last year. This year started with riding to the start of the hill, stopping looking up and going WTF???? BUT!!!!!! Last weekend, I started and went as far as i could, got off the bike, rested and got my butt back on. TODAY!!!!! RODE ALL THE HILLS, WITHOUT STOPPING, AND LIVED TO TELL ABOUT IT!!!!! LOL We even increased our Average from last weekend doing the same route....and I am happy to say, John and I' was the same. Love the granny gear, now that I know when to use it and when not to...LOL....and I love my pedals.....they make a world of diffrence. I am ready for the covered bridge ride next weekend....it should be awesome. Ok, I am done babbling
  4. OH B!!! I am so sorry you are dealing with this stuff.... You take care of yourself and keep us updated if you can......i cant beleive it got so bad.........YIKES
  5. hello guys!!! Congrats on your walk today!! what an amazing thing you did, and now you have something to train for for later this year......great goals!!!! We went out today for a wonderful HILL ride....nothing my DH does isnt. But...we took his old bike for my 17 year old so she could ride....and it has chain and gearing issues....not something she wanted to deal with. So, we cut it out early. We are riding, MYself an DH tommorow, hoping for a longer ride. It is wonderful out. We are riding in the PArke county covered bridge ride next weekend....I am hyped. We are camping on friday and we will be there all weekend..... Out to eat now, see you later

I thought I would die last year with BG and J and JC on our ride.......We dont have to do the longest ride there.......and we could pair up.....I ride allot with my 14 year old....so I am game for whatever.... Believe in YOURSELF!!!!!!!!! Hugs to all

  9. hey!! Checking that out it is about 5 hours 45 min from me....BUT would be so worth it. I am doing some checking with my 14 year olds basketball schedule and she leaves for camp the day after, so if I can find some place for her to be, it may just work out.......I will leave the kids at home...LOL
  10. Tx!!!!!! When Did Your Weight Ticker Drop So Low???? Wow!!!!!!! B Nice To Here From You...i Miss Reading Your Post.... Have A Good Evening All
  11. oh, ok....I guess I did not realize it was an indoor bike. We love to ride. I started riding a single speed bike at 335lbs last April. I rode all last season with a Trek hybrid bike, and this season upgraded to a road bike with mountain bike handelbars. It was great getting back out. I swore I would be so tired when I went for my rides at my old weight...doing 4-5 miles a night was a killer...and hardly ever got above 7-8 miles an hour. I am happy to say this season is allot better. I hope you have lots of luck When is your surgery?
  12. HELLO...i AM ASSUMING THAT YOU HAVE NOT HAD YOUR SURGERY YET??? It took me about 2 weeks (full 2 weeks) to get my energy level back to be able to walk short distances up our road. But, once that was getting easier, than back on my bike I went. We live in a very hilly area, so that type of bike would not work for me. I do know someone who has one, and it looks like great fun. I am very proud of you for getting it together and getting on it. That is the hardest part. Even though you are on a bike closer to the ground, please make sure you buy a helmet......Always be safe.... Best of luck Traci
  13. well, hello my fellow bikers........ I have been out of the loop all week. My mom went in for a 45 min surgery that ended up taking 2 hours. She was supposed to be there just overnight, we ended up there 2 days. So, finally thursday evening we got her home and setteled, and I wetn back home and went back too work yesterday!! So, it has been crazy as ever and no biking all week. Managed to maintain the weight all week even without exercising, but it was very hard for me to eat good when I was not at home. TX....LOVE the pictures of the ride.....all the people...WOW!!!!! I am sorry about your band and the ordeal you are dealing with..........but you are right this will be a good chance to see how much you have actually made this work...... Everyone else on here.....HELLLOOOOOOOO and welcome our newest biker on here as well.....my name is Traci but they call me HP Short for hoosierpoms....(I raise Poms) Hoping to get in some riding this weekend....so keeping fingers crossed

  18. Turler, They always say that the 3 day after surgery you feel the worst....for me it has always been the case. I think the being tired part was allot of me after surgery too.....it will get better. As far as the tummy.......you are making good choices....making sure you have something with Protein should fill you up some.....To this day, ,my stomach does the grumbling, and I cant eat anymore...LOL It is a TRICK! Not any riding but we did some cleaning of the yard and cleaning of the cars....So, I guess that will count. I had a NSV today and am soooo happy! Last year....a size 30/32 was a pant size that I was all too familar with. This consignment shop bought some after market items from MAcy's and had a big sale. I bought pants in size 18 and another in a 20! I was soooooo freakin hyped about it. I cant tell you the last time I saw that!
