  1. thanks for everyone's post on here... I am 5 weeks out and hit my stall.... so dang frustrating cause I expect it to fall off. I am going to the gym and doing cardio stuff and I thought that this would aid the weight loss and then it stopped and I am fluctuating with 3 lbs... but I gotta keep being positive thanks again
  2. hey there I was sleeved on the 12th and going through the same things. Wondering what it feels like to be full on this stomach. Through talking to some others and then experiencing it, for me it is when there is a lump right around the solar plexes (right in between the nipples). It just sort of just sits there and then there is a bit of a tightness going down to the stomach. Much different with the old belly....lol

    No more CPAP!

that is good news buddy..... just started my journey and hoping to be able to toss mine out in a bit too be nice to travel without
  4. I understand the whole divorce of food. I hear that it gets better and that food doesn't rule us. I have only been sleeved since 12 Jan and I am already feeling some freedom from the slavery of food. I guess the bonus is that I lost 10 lbs the first week out. I don't remember that happening before. I trust that things will get better and that I will be content with a slice of pizza instead of 8 slices...lol (kinda funny when you say it out loud) and able to share dessert with my sweetie. I look forward to that. As far as sugery goes, mine went well. First day feels like you did a million sit ups and crunches and got hit by a truck. Get up and walk around and do your breathing exercises. Each day gets better and day three you get out....

Anyone else now disgusted with food?

hey there I am not sleeved yet (I am getting sleeved Jan 14), but have attended some support groups that we have in our city here. There is one person that has said the same thing.... she said that she actually gets bored with food. I feel that I am like you, a foodaholic.. as was this girl. She said that right after her meal she would think of what the next meal would be.... I do that. Keep working at what you are doing, I don't think that you will have to worry if you are taking the proper supplements, ettc. Congrats on your weight loss.... looking forward to be a fellow sleever
  7. hey buddy....

thanks for adding me as a friend. Good luck on the sleeve, keep me updated...I am stoked for you

    January 2011 Sleevers

Hey all, well add another January sleever..... I am getting sleeved January 14. Like many of you, it is hard to believe that I am going on his journey. I am verey excited. Been talking to people and I have already been going through bouts of sadness about not being able to eat as much as I used to. That sounds weird I know but the mind is a weird thing....
  9. Well I talked to a facilitator today and gave all my medical data.... so I am on my way to getting sleeved. I am excited, anxious and nervous at all the same time. I am told that it should be withing 8-12 weeks.

    Newbie

Hey there, I am a newbie here... have not had the sleeve as of yet, just started some research but what I am finding I am impressed with, so it seems that it is just a matter of time before I do this. I am happy to have found a forum as a support and to ask questions. Wouldn't mind connecting with other people that are in same position of have already been sleeved and wanna make a bit of support group within Tim

    Sooo... How are you today?

hey all thought I would get in on the convo a little bit....lol I have posted but no one seems to want to talk to me...lol having been doing lots of research and I do beleive I am at the point that I am gonna go through with the sleeve. I unfortunatly didn't sleep last night as I pondered my whole life - but I am grateful for a second chance at life and living longer and doing some things that I have always wanted to do but couldn't because of my weight. Next week a consultant comes to my city and I am going to talk to her and start the process....to which I am excited. I think my greatest excitement is going to be able to buy clothes from a normal store.... gosh I don't know the last time I did that... maybe 12-13? Anyways, thanks for all your posts. I read them daily, it has been an inspiration to read them.
  14. Agreed... it is the past, there is nothing you can do about it. Look to now....and what you can do right now!, not what happened, not to tomorrow....butr right now. You can do it!
  15. I would think that this is the place to rant.... go ahead and rant away. stay positive.... I have not gotten the sleeve yet, but I am 85% sure of it... Been doing lots of reading on here and there are lots of motivation stuff when we feel like eating. We have done it all our lives and it isn't going to change overnight. It takes a change in everything for us...so keep staying positive and checking in and reading
  16. hahahaha I loved your comment about the pig.... and so true... as I am thinking about this (as I haven't been sleeved yet) was thinking yesterday that I won't be able to eat 6 slices of pizza like I normally do... good lord what will I do? lol And thanks for reminding us that it is a tool.... I am doing lots of research and preparing myself for what is ahead... all the food stuff before and after and the pain and the emotions.... thanks everyone for sharing
  17. hey there... I am relatively new here and have not been sleeved... but very seriously thinking about it. I have been doing lots of reading about the sleeve and it seems that emotions are a part of the operation and some have been depressed. Hang in there.... you wouldn't have done this if you weren't sure about it. Is there a support group in your area? Where I live there is a bug support group to which I am thankful.... if there isn't make sure that you stay on here and keep venting and sharing
  18. hey all, My name is Tim and I am an alcoholic. It took me 40 years to address my disease of alchohol and now it is time to address my weight.... seems that there is lots of support in regards to the sleeve which is really cool. I just stumbled on a site that talked about it and now I have been doing some research and been verey pleased. I don't think it will be long before I decide this is what I am going to do. Is there anyone else here from Canada? Is there any other males that have had this? Thanks
