  1. I am two months out of surgery and after one month I had eaten a little too much and it made me sick so since then I have really monitored my intake by amount rather than fullness and I am not loosing much weight at all but I figured slow and steady was the important thing. Anyway last night I was making dinner and got a phone call, there was a crisis at work and as I'm making plates I am on my headset talking the entire time. My husband was in the living room and he said "You are on your 3rd taco" and I said "I can't be, I can't eat that much anymore". Anyway, he was right, as I was talking I had eaten 3 tacos and here's the issue. I wasn't overly full or sick or anything. I am so worried and upset. i think my stitches have come out or I've stretched my stomach. I dread going back to the hospital in Mexico, I was so ill after the surgery and I just don't know what to do, but this was totally my pre-surgery amount of food. I can see eating too much and getting sick but not eating too much and feeling fine and not overly full. There is something very very wrong and I'm afraid I've done something to my stomach. ANY help would be appreciated.
  2. Oh Wow. I didn't want to hear that. But actually if they made a mess of it the first time I wont go back. i would prefer to find someone like Dr Watkins that knows what they're doing and go to him instead. Thank you for the info. Thanks very much.
  3. I really should have gone with Dr. Watkins but I couldn't face the thought of the plane ride after surgery, since I live right here in San Diego, but I am beginning to believe I threw my money away. I am going to make an appointment and go down there next week. I don't know what else to do. I will let you know what I find out.
  4. I am going to do the 5 day pouch test. Thank you so much for mentioning this. I am mainly worried that I have stretched out or done some damage to my stomach. I am scared to death of more surgery. I am going to try that and see what happens. Thank You.
  5. Hey TJPlication. I think it is really interesting that we are both Doctor Corvala patients and both encountering the same issues. I hear you about monitoring myself and being careful and I never expected this to be a magic bullet but I did expect it to be a tool that would help me get where I needed to go. I appreciate the response and support and read the other thread. Thank You.

    Salad

So I am only two weeks out and obviously can't have salad yet but I am so craving one. Has anyone reintroduced salad and can you tell me when? Is it very difficult to digest because of all the Fiber? Any advice would be appreciated. Lizzy
  7. So one week ago today I had my plication done in Tijuana with Doctor Corvala. Excellent experience. I was quite ill that night and the next day but I am 54 years old and I think we take a little longer to recover, the older we get. I came home on Friday and am starting mushy foods. I eat tomato Soup and I had some potato mashed up last night. The thing I am realizing is that while this surgery constrains quantities, the choices I make are still mine and my calories can either be highly dense and purposeful or sugar and crap. There are still a lot of choices to be made and a lot of effort needs to go into this to make it work. I have noticed one effect though right away and wonder if anyone else has noticed this. I have way more energy suddenly than I've had in years! Before surgery I usually slept 10 hours a night and after dinner was too tired to move. Now I am zipping around the house in the evening and I went to bed at 10 last night and woke up "Refreshed" at 6:00 AM!!! The only thing I can figure out is that perhaps I was exhausting myself with the amounts of food my body had to digest. Any ideas? Also having no alcohol is helping I am sure. Anyway I am not on the scale, have no idea what my weight is but I know with walking and smart food choices I can make this work and I think it's the best thing I EVER did.

    My Journey and Energy

I have a Vitamix and adding Protein to fresh fruits or veggies amoothies has helped me with the mushy phase. How long ago did you get your plication done? How are things going?

    My Journey and Energy

Deal! We can be support buddies on this journey. I am on my way to the bookstore to pick up "The Zone", I talked to a patient of Doctor Corvala's who is not a member of this board but he put me in touch with and she had her surgery done in June and she uses "the Zone" diet and is down an incredible amount and says she has never felt so well in her life.
  11. Hi, I am getting ready for my Plication next Wednesday with Doctor Corvala in Tijuana and I am very excited. I read through all these posts to get ideas and help and I have noticed several people mention drinking wine or cocktails. I would have thought with your stomach being so much smaller that you'd be unable to drink much? Is this correct? I am just wondering if it's even worthwhile having a drink once you've had this done since you have such a small capacity. Anyway any comments would be appreciated.

    January 2011 Sleevers

I am having my sleeve done on January 5th with Doctor Corvala in Tijuana. I am nervous and excited at the same time. I do have one question though was anyone else put on a pre-op diet? I was not and I have heard you are supposed to be so I am wondering why? Thanks Liz

    Any January Sleevers?

Oh I was hoping perhaps we were seeing the same doctor I hear yours is very good also. Lets keep in touch about progress and how we're doing. I am so excited and nervous. I have started cutting back on what I eat, trying to get ready. I have 70lbs (minimum) to loose.
