    I can still eat???

Its really funny that you say that. I was also banded on 04/30 and I started back to solid foods about 8 days out. My doctor is one of if not the Best Lapband doctor in texas, and he said really the only reason you need to take it slow in the beginning is to give yourself time to heal with out throwing up. They arent' as scared of you churning your stomach but as you are still very swollen inside and smaller things that would normaly pass with the band can't because of the swelling. He put it if you can eat it keep it down. Now mind you my husband and I are doing the gastric bypass diet but the lapband surgery, so we eat no carbs, no sugar and only about 4 oz a meal. My fist fill isn't for about another 3 weeks but they wouldn't fill my husband because he is still losing a ton of weight a week (his surgery was on 04/09). Slippage is very unlikey at this point. I had some complications with the surgery and the day after surgery was spent hugging the toilet, and I didn't slip it, so it must be sewin in there pretty good. Follow your doctors directions because ultimatey he is the one that knows. IF he says its okay, then your good to go.
  3. Hey guys so I am about 12 days out from surgery and I have some hardness around the incision of my port. ITs a little painful not horrible and its not red or anything but when i pust on it it like a big knot. I know my port didn't fall out but i just want to make sure this is normal.
  4. :sick I was banded on Monday and threw up on Tuesday night. I have had constant hicups and have been sleeping alot. Only my port incision hurts but I can't keep anything down. Water is okay but i'm not drinking the 60oz, My husband has the band on April the 9th so he is not about 3 weeks out and really didn't have any of the same problems. I am only eating watery smashed potatoes, jello, jello pudding, water, decaf tea, and broth. any suggestions??

    LB is pissing me off

LB SUCKS plain and simple. My sister is a manager at one and trust me they suck. The manicans are at size 12 which they offer that size online. lol. THere clothes fit the first time, but after you wash them good bye to the fit. The only thing I continure to buy from there are their bra's. They fit wonderfully. I have been trying to get the manager at our store fired for the last year because everytime I go to the store my husband goes with me to keep the manager from bullying me. She told him last year that he needed to buy my sexy underwear to get me in the mood. WTF??? he put her in her place infront of about 20 other shoppers. SO now we call ahead and if she is there we just save the bra shopping for another day.

    Dr Simms in Waco Texas

Do not go to him. He has done less than 100 lapbands. We are here in Waco to and went to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, to DR. KUHN. There are many issues with Simms. First he is out of network for all insurances which means he will balance bill you , my surgery would have cost me lie 10000 out of pocket before he would even do my surgery. just check him out really good. FOr us he wasn't someone we wanted touching us because of his lack of experience.
  8. My husband and I used DR, KUHN at the WLS at Baylor, and have loved every bit of this. I was just banded on 4/30 but he was banded on 4/9 and have had no problems. I work for a health insurance company and have had several people ask for help. I would say the first thing you need to do it call them and find out why they need to prove the medical ness. for this type of surgery. some times its as little as a letter from you primary care and other times as with my insurance its a 6 to 12 month diet plan that you have done with your doctor. 5 year history of morbid obesity, a bmi over 40 or 35 with comorbidities and and phsych eval. Whatever its is don't give up. We had to fight for almost a year to get approved and like I said I work for the dang insurance.

    Throwing up 2 days out

i called the surgeon, he told me not to worry but to stay away from yogurt since that was the last thing i ate before i thru up. He said all the other things i'm eating are okay. I just was a little nervous that things were happening to me that my husband did not experience.
