  1. I have heard from so many of you how great the Nectar Protein powder is, so I was super excited to get my sample pack in the mail. I mixed the Crystal Sky pack with 16 oz of water. Unfortunately the taste is horrible to me! It was hard to mix it for starters. When I tasted it, all I could taste was that strong protein taste. I cannot hardly get this down. Any suggestions??

    How bad is the hunger?

I am only 3 1/2 weeks post op. For me, I was hungry the first week when I was on clear liquids. I am sure some of it was head hunger. Now that I am on soft foods I can say I am not really hungry anymore. Yay!
  3. Thanks so much everyone! I will try some of these tips.
  4. Did you use milk or Water? It is the strong Protein taste that is killing me. I hope the other flavors somehow mask it. I did get a sample pack of those as well. Did you use milk with the matrix line?

    Protein question

How much protein would you use in a 16.9 oz bottle if water?
  6. Hello! I have been avidly researching this forum in preparation for my sleeve on March 25th with Dr. Alvarez. I want to be prepared for after surgery as much as possible. First of all, thank you so much to everyone who posts all of this useful information. I would not be anywhere near prepared without all of the insight everyone openly shares! :0) As I have been preparing, I have come across a lot of information on Protein shakes. I see that some of you use Torani sugar free Syrup in them to offer variety in the taste. I am debating on buying a six pack of the SF Torani syrups, but I want to know are there other things you can use the syrup in besides Protein Shakes? I apologize in advance if this is a silly question.
  7. I found a six pack variety set at Amazon for $39. It's for the large bottles, 25 oz each.
  8. Hello, I recently began researching VSG after seeing someone who had lost 89 lbs in 5 months. I stumbled upon this forum which has been a wealth of information. Here's my story... I have a BMI of 32. I have struggled with yo-yo dieting for the last 15 years. In the end, I always gain it all back and then some. I am about the highest I've ever been now (180 lbs) and so frustrated. I feel like I will never be able to conquer this feat on my own. I'm interested in Dr. Aceves performing the procedure. My concern is whether he would be willing to perform it on me since my BMI is on the lower side. (I don't have any other real medical issues such as high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.) Anyone out there with my circumstances had the procedure done? Also, what is the approximate turn around time for scheduling surgery from the initial point of contact with him? P.S. Do you really lose your hair?? I saw that somewhere I think. I appreciate any help anyone can give. You all are such an inspiration. Misty
  9. Thanks ladies. The information helps tremendously! I see you had your surgery a little over a year ago. Can I ask how long it took for your hair to grow back? Is it as thick as it used to be prior to surgery or will it always be thinner? Does this happen because of a lack of Vitamins from food? Thanks so much for your help.
