  1. Hi all, I was sleeved on the 10th. The first two days were hard; gas pains and lots of nausea but it got progressibly better. I feel very good now. I'm still on liquids and planning to start pures some time this week. It's incredible how i feel energized and happy having only 4oz of broth or Protein shake every 3 hours. I do feel a little hungry sometimes and have had cravings but I'm trying to stay focus. Including preop I have lost 30lb now which is starting to show :w00t:. I will be happy to share my experience so far so ask away. Best of luck to all of you starting the process and keep up the good work to all my fellow September sleevers, XXXX
  2. NIKKEY Good luck tomorrow. You will do great :001_smile:
  3. Thank you all. I'm exited. Went for my preop tests and have to see my PCP on Tuesday. Axiety is setting in and it makes me hungry!!!.....I feel like eating the world. GOD HELP ME!
  4. Hi Chris, How are you doing???? What are you eating now days? :confused1: I want details. I am off in a week..............getting nervous. By the way if you still need a dr. for aftercare I've heard that Dr. Paul Wizman in Plantation does see patients that had surgery out of the country. Saw your pics. Beautifull family. Keep me posted...........
  5. I'M SEPTEMBER 10TH. Nice to meet you all. Went for my preop tests on Monday. I fly to Barranquilla Colombia Thursday the 9th for surgery on the 10th. I'll be back on the 14th. I'm exited and nervous. What scares me the most is the disipline and maintenance afterwards. Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See you in the skinny side:)
  6. Hey, I'm Sep 10th too. How exiting is this!!!!!! I am going to Colombia for my surgery for cost reasons. I cant' believe that in about a week our lives will change for ever. To all september sleevers: GOOD LUCK, we can do this!! LOVE
  7. After months of research and doubts I finally got a date: SEP 10 with Dr. Cure in Barranquilla (Colombia). I am going alone since hubby has to stay with the kids. I fly back 4th day post-op so that is a little scary. Leaving my two babies behind for a whole 5 days is even scarier (silly me). Now....................try explaining your 130lb boss that you need a week off for WLS :thumbup1:. I have lost 7 lbs in the last two weeks which has been hard..............I've been hungry most of the time but at least my body will be better prepared for surgery. I still plan on having a BIG piece of cake at some point before surgery. Overall I'm exited. I will probally miss eating large servings of the foods i like but once the smaller cloths in my closet (that i havent worn in years) start to fit nicely I will forget all about that stinking food. Well, that's all for know. Thank you all for being part of this amazing sleeve family. LOVE
  8. GREAT JOB. 24lb is fantastic if you ask me. Most important is that you are happy and healthy. Enjoy you new life! Go shopping!!
  9. Hi Chris, Went to my PCP; good and bad news. She said if I loose 20 lbs before surgery she'll support me and do my follow up care. She wants to make sure I'm mentally and emotionally in the right place. Also, my body will be better prepared for surgery and life changes. She is onboard if i use the Colombian Dr. since she is colombian too and will be able to track the Dr.'s credencials and experience. Will not do it if i decide to go to Mexico. I guess she is looking after me and herself......So I will talk to surgeon about $$$ and start a diet plan. How are you feeling? Do you have plans for your last dinner and drinks?? Good luck starting your pre-op diet tomorrow. Remember we are going to the Hard Rock!!LOL
  10. Hi Christina, Congrats on your surgery date! I live in Tamarac, FL (west of Ft. lauderdale) so i would love to join the Florida gang. I'm in the "chossing my Dr." stage (Dr. Almanza or Dr. Cure/Colombia). Hopefully i can make a decision in the next few days. I have an appointment with my PCP on Friday so we will see if she is onboard with my WLS proyect. I will work on setting up my ticker.....When do you start your pre-op diet?

Hi Everybody!! I'm new to forums in general so it's going to take me a while to learn all the in and outs. About me: Colombian, 35 y/o, lived in Ft lauderdale FL for 9 years, married, two girls (3 y/o and 10 months). I've been researching about the sleeve for a few months now and want to thank all of you sleevers that have shared your experiences and thoughts. WLS is a difficult desicion to make. So...........I am down to two options : Dr. Almanza in Tijuana and Dr. Cure in Barraquilla (Colombia). I am tired of just thinking about it so i hope i can make a desicion in the next two weeks. Back to work now.........MC
  12. WOW, Size 6! Congrats. I was just looking at your pics, you look GREAT. Thanks again for sharing and listening (private message). I'll keep you posted :thumbup1:
  13. Dear Pnw218, I am new here. Thank you so much for sharing your VSG journey; reading it has given me peace of mind and strenght about making the decision to have the surgery. I would like to ask you a couple questions: What is the cost of the VSG and what size sleeve did you get? I was inicially looking into getting the Lapband but I have read about alll the people that need revisions after a few years and I think the VSG is the way to go. My husdand is not completly on board with it yet so I have to work on that. Hope all is well with you and congratulations for you extraordinary weight loss......................Thank you again.
